I got in yesterday to withing a few miles of the consignee, i cant deliver till monday morning, so i will have over a day and a half sitting here, looking in the drg it says you arent paid layover until after 25 hours, so does that mean i get nothing until i make it to that point then im paid for that day plus the half day extra? or is that meaning i only would get about a half day of layover pay, like detention pay the first two hours dont count then you get it from there.

ill end up with a reset in, start fresh monday with new hours, hopefully get something good, only the second time i have been in texas, the first time was really rough getting out of here, hopefully its better, i sat at the shipper 13 hours, then 5 of my next 6 runs were under 250 miles, with all but the one being almost max weight, and the one light one was driver unload.
but i did stay busy enough that all that didnt affect my check much, thats what this is about i guess.

does that just happen randomly or does roehl not have the best routes out here?

That part. I would be less confusing if they said you'd get paid for 12, after the first 36. and, monday, be sure to talk to *your* FM, about the layover, so they can flag it.

I believe it's rough for most of larger national carriers to get out of south Texas, I'd assume we do all right near Dallas.

Don't count on layover when you are under a load. That is intended for when you are sitting waiting on a dispatch. It is common to get a load that picks up late in the week, but the consignee is closed on the weekend so you sit till they open Monday morning. I try to get loads that are long enough to keep me rolling through the weekend.

There are areas of the country that are the Dead Sea of shipping, meaning lots of freight goes in, but nothing comes out. Texas and Florida are both areas that are easy to get into and hard to get out. I know most of us don't like the northeast, but there are a lot of paper loads that come out of there, it's just a matter of going in the direction you want to go in.
