..you might want to reconsider Crete CD, they seem to be getting the miles & run freight up your area where a lot of the other drivers complain about going.. check out Evertruckerrs' thread & see what you think you might be able to get for miles/hometime driving there..

last post there was from LongBow..

I applied to them a few months ago and was accepted.
The problem is that everyone says they get no miles in the northeast. Which is the same as at my company.
Plus they are getting around the miles I am, and they have to stay out 3-4 weeks to get it.
I can get 2200 a week here most of the time and be home every weekend.
It is just when they send me east of here I get allot of 200 mile loads with 24 hours on them.
My dispatcher is trying to keep me out of the northeast region for now, when he can. I am on OH regional, not northeast regional.
I would get 6 more cpm if I wanted to work NE region. But I did not want to run in that area. Just on the edge of it if possible.
Anyway, I can go to Crete anytime. I was already accepted and they said if I ever want to come to just give them a call.

Hi alls I am still alive. I have been off the road for 6 months, I was working in an office getting 80-100 calls a day from nothing but pissed off people. I couldn't take it anymore.

I am working for Werner (yes I know they suck) but I doing Walmart dedicated, out 5 days home 2 days a week. Regional Ohio, Indiana, Michigan so it's all good. Eventhough my truck says werner on it, I work for walmart.

Anyway I'm back, and my stress level is like 100% reduced, i don't think I could ever work in an office again.

got me a really good gig this week with wally world myself our co road link is starting a new fleet next week where we pick up a container already mounted on a chassis and run 3.5 miles to the schnieder logistics warehouse drop and hook an empty and back to the port. this is suposed to last thru december. pays 33.50 to the driver and takes about an hour to do. and we can work sat and sun if we want . the schnieder warehouse breaks down the containers and puts it on schnider trucks for del to the wal mart dc's. im gonna be loving this and the money aint baad too. actually been looking for a new dirt bike and this will sure help me get it.

dirt bikes? out here there isn't any place to ride em anymore. without taking a 200 mile drive.

i did that with my kid. was kind of expensive with my old old truck only getting 8 to the gallon. i'm glad he's older now and moved on to other things. i can stick with my street cruiser on group rides. it don't cost as much in gas. :biggrin_25525:

Oh don't worry Jess, everybody can tell when its you typing, no matter who's name your typing on.
*sighs* N of Atlanta waiting to deliever this load. Can't do it till tomorrow. " Oh so sorry, this customer will not change appt times unless late coming out of a meat plant", or we planned this load so badly that its easier to make you sit....... for free, than to try and change anything. Just so disgusted at the moment.

I love my bike. And I was nuts before I started to ride them.
Of course I was only 8 when I started lol.
On my way to Chicago for a morning delivery. Then down towards St. Louis.
