Hey Mark,
Did the software upgrade this morning on the T5C (do the map this weekend). And noticed pronouced hesitations in changing of screens especially on the map screen in the bottem display when changing between the data bars (current road, city etc). The main display actually hung up when going from tools back to the map. Not a complaint-yet anyway. More an observation.
All in all, a good update. And the rocket truck was nice touch.
Mark-k7tkrMark Kling Thanks this. -
I do like the Highway view!
I also was off 100' of I-80 in Lincoln Ne
kept me recalculating at most intersections of the service road it thought I was on -

Drivers, when you call in, please remember that the folks on the other end of the phone are human also. The last few days they have had people calling in swearing at them and yelling and screaming.
Rand does know a few new issues have surfaced due to some issues in users updating. We are working on a resolution to those issues.
One of the issues are users simply disconnecting their TND from the laptop in the middle of a download. As anyone should know this can cause some major file errors. It is like you simply pulling out and not making sure your kingpin is locked. You drop a trailer and spend many fun hours trying to get it out of the dirt.
Please allow the downloads to complete. If you do not have the time (4-12) hours or your bandwidth will not support a 2.6 GB download, then simply do the update for the software and say no to the map update. It will remind you later when you connect.
Again, Please treat these folks here a little better on the phone.
Thanks much in advance.

My guess is that the mean people on the phone do not come on here.
Otherwise they would know that the update will take hours.
The ones that are surprised by it are the ones updating. Which will be the majority of users.
You should have them put a warning on the update before download. "Please do not attempt if you do not have hours to spare waiting, once started you cannot stop update process" -
One thing I also noticed about my unit, is that it gives me a warning that I'm unable to back up the TND500 and to contact tech support if the problem persists.

thanks,
Mark
