No I havent had that, but I've had numerous ones switch driver's on me. I'll pull beside the truck, see the one fella, and shaz zow, here jumps another guy in the seat. Most of them either are suspended or do not have a license.

I worked in the accounting industry and spent alot more than these peasly amounts you are "REQUIRED TO HAVE" for reimbursement. My company would pay off the reports provided with the exception of the motel bill and client entertainment. Otherwise, we never had to provide a meal receipt unless we spent over 30.00 for the meal and this was in the 90's.

Seems to be a waste and evidence of a distrusting company in my opinion.

Never had to show any receipts for a reset. If they ask for them, they are out of luck. I ususally mail them home at the end of the reset ready for the new week.

Right...Once the dailies go into the trip pack; receipts; and B/L's and become sealed........IIRC...DOT cannot make you open up the trip pack envelope...

Bad news. If it is in the truck, it can be opened. Even US Mail.

Sealed US Mail can only be opened by the person its for or by court order.

My understanding is that its not legal for any body that so desires to go about freely opening mail that isn't for them.
This is why its such a crime to be stealing mail from mail boxes.

You might want to do some further research.

It is not considered to be in the US Mail system until dropped into the Mail system.

Putting a stamp on it does not make it US Mail.

what law cites that they can go thru all your stuff on a truck? I'm just curious. These companies lie to their drivers so much about the laws that its hard to know what to believe. like guns in a truck. for years i thought it was illegal to carry a gun in a commercial truck. yet theres no law to cite that.

That's interesting *sarcasm* I had a small stack of stamped, sealed, addressed envelopes (2 were addressed to me) in plain view in my truck at the last inspection and he asked if I had any of my reciepts to verify my logs...I said "No, I already mailed them" and that was the end of it!

I don't think you are correct in the statement you made about stamped, sealed mail being able to be opened during a search.

I have never had them even ask to open any mail that was in my truck regardless what the situation was and I have also been told by an officer that I know that, "Sealed mail can not be opened!"

I'm not gonna get in a pissin' contest with you over this like always seems to happen whenever anyone questions anything that you claim...I'm just putting in my personal experience here.
