Okay, stupid question. What do you mean by recap?
I have yet had to do a 34 hour reset. I don't lie about my hours driving but I do fudge the book a little on my load/unload times.
Why do drivers not know how to run a recap anymore?

i get home on the weekends so a reset works well for me. i dont need to recap when i know ill be reseting my 70 everyweek.

Will deliver in 3.5 days and still have hours to reload after the delivery. Working the recap and knowing when and how to split sleeper to meet appointments are 2 valuable money making tools OTR drivers need to have.Truckernurse Thanks this. -
I run pretty hard and usually at the end of 5 days I'm out of hours...I do a reset! Because It'll take longer to wait for the hours to catch up to me than to "reset".
I usually time it so the reset happens on the weekend and I can relax and not be concerned about being off during the week.MackDaddyMark Thanks this. -

I will run on my recaptured hours when I need too. I was going home every weekend for a long time, so I got a restart in every weekend.
Now I am staying out 2 weeks at a time, and normally on Monday I only have a few hours to run.
If I am getting back good hours at midnight (which normally I do) I will wait till midnight and run as I need too the rest of the week as I get hours back.
When I was running flatbed I was normally out of hours by the end of day 5. And this was with a little fudging on load/tarp times.
On Van I do not need as much on duty not driving time, so I can make my hours last thru day 7 most of the time. Then just sit some on day 8.Fowl Hauler 72 Thanks this. -
I get a reset every weekend at home

I have not done a recap in years as I have had no need but I get to use a 24hr reset
