I recently ordered a dac report and was woundering, i was under the impression my last company put a abandonment on it.. But under reason for leaving it has " truck repossesion/ lease default" and under word record it says "other".. I was told i would have unauthorized location.. But then again.. Maybe other is just a nice way of puttin abandonment?? Thanks for any help you can give me!
Dac report question..

were you a lease operator.?
since this thread was ambiguous, i had to go and check your past few posts. frankly, you should have explained yourself better here.
now, since i had to search, and find that you were a lease operator, you turned in your truck, therefore you got a lease default. you probably did not fulfill your contractual agreements per the contract. they may have 'saved" you from truck abandonment by saying that instead (lease default).
under the "rehire able" section, "other" could mean, they will think about it. that can be "iffy" to another employer.
so as for a reason(s) on your applications for leaving your former employer, you could probably just get away with, "being a lease operator just wasn't for me, so i turned in my truck".
as for any accidents, you still have to account for those, DOT reportable or not, as those will be in your company files.Last edited: Oct 4, 2010

im new here i have been driving for 18 months and last year i was driving with a company and i was in an accident a tractor pulling doubles side swiped my tractor and he took full blame for the accident but i was having a hard time getting into another company so i got a copy of my dac report and in it it says unsatifactory of safty is ther any companys that dont look at the dac report
please help thanks ghostrider -
Actually they are not suppose to give out any information that is non DOT reportable. If they do, you can dispute it and turn them in to DOT.
ghostrider1 Thanks this. -
If you get fired for refusing to drive an unsafe rig or violate the regs by driving too long or whatever, can you put a statement on your DAC for other companies to see that you were safety conscious?...
-
1. Try to avoid all DAC problems.
2. Do this by working for non DAC companies.
3. If you spend the energy to look around, there are many companies that either don't subscribe to DAC, or they pay no attention to it.
3b. And no, there is NO list of non-DAC companies. You WILL have to do some searching !!! -
And not very hard, either. DAC is a joke. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

yes.........

Besides we're hoping that with CSA going on line and your score being more important over some DAC rant, HireRight/USIS/DAC just might fade into the sunset because that score is the money maker! If you have a 0 on your CSA and BFI says you had a DOT reportable, or safety violations then CSA will make that DAC report into the lying, bottom feeder, POS company it's been for years!
Lets all sit and listen to "Happy Trails" as they file bankrupcy or that chapter 13 or whatever it is for companies and disappear into the sunset of DAC Hello!! I believe that CSA is actually our friend IF we follow the rules and not get written up! -
i would so much like to believe you. DAC only holds information on us, they get from the employers, they DO NOT make it up. but, YES, i too would like to sing "happy trails to you" to DAC as well.
but this may just not happen.......but a nice idea..........
