Not moving : You shouldn't have parked so close to that tree, you had to know it would fall.

Moving : You were driving too fast for conditions, You knew there were falling trees in the area.

What, you didn't know? Well it's your job as a truck driver to know......Maybe that's why truck drivers are the most "educated" group of people one will ever meet. Everyone knows everything about everything.

Truck drivers are good at excuses. I would have to think, based on my experience that most of the accidents I have seen were preventable no matter who was at fault.

Most have involved insufficient following distance. And or an non-moving object. You have to leave room and time for the unexpected.

There are a lot of us here that have logged over a million miles without accidents, it is not coincidence accident do not just happen, they are caused by someone or something most are preventable, and they seem to keep happening to the same drivers.

Powder ahahahahaha. Humor me, you must think most posters here are rookies. While your sitting in your cozy cubicle dispatching or playing safety person, real men are working the road. It is what it is, pretty much a dead giveaway with your comment. A million miler accident free ( incident free ) or preventable free is a rare thing and they probably had a cushy run with few distractions. You can fool them but not me.

Spend a little more time here before making judgment calls about some of our more respected members! Perhaps you are the transparent one you claim PowderJoints to be. He doesn't need my help but I have learned a lot from him and trust what he says. As far as your opening sentence, "Humor me, you must think most posters here are rookies"...further legitimizes my opening sentence.

    A) did you cause the accident?

    B) where you there under ANY unlawful circumstances?

If THEY can screw you, THEY will! You're the big, bad truck and if you drive for any company it becomes a "deep pockets" scenario.

You couldn't me more wrong on every point you attempted to make! Million mile accident/incident free isn't as rare as you may think! Just because the driver isn't "listed" or "published" by some organization doesn't mean many of us aren't million milers....that includes me...working on my second BTW! It is called being defensive and not aggressive, paying attention to what you are doing, and being courteous to the others on the road, in the parking lots, and not pushing the limits of legality and/or safety.

Powder isn't a dispatcher, he is a driver, and willing to pass on his learned knowledge to rookies, newbies, and lesser experienced drivers here on the forum. As for the others who you think had a cake walk run to get their million safe miles...again...very wrong indeed.

Only a fool feels he can't be fooled! Especially when the fool is only fooling him/her self when they don't research the background and make blatant accusations about someone or something they do not know!

I guess I would add, ignorance begins when you think you have all the answers.:biggrin_2556:
