I saw one that had to either be brain dead or a rookie.
On his creeper inspecting a truck with his legs from the waste down out in the driving lane.
I thought to myself....... man that guy is a bad bad accident looking for a place to happen.
Just some of the stupid things I see

Most of the time when they really want to inspect your truck they'll get a warrant and waste more of your time.
NM inspected my truck one day. I told em they were wasting my time AND THEIRS before they began the search.
When they got done.... "I TOLD YOU SO". They didn't think that was as funny as I did. -
"Never rat on your friends, and ALWAYS keep your mouth shut" -
Well...Heard on Road dog this afternoon mandatory EOBR's will be on Obama's desk before the end of the year....
What happens if you're backed against the dock or getting a pipe load...when you got there you had plenty of time....But the shipper dicked around and just as the last pallet goes on...or the last layer of pipe is loaded the clock runs out?
Can they make you violate your HOS?
If you refuse to move...they call a LEO... the LEO makes you move off the property....Can the LEO write you up for violating the HOS? -
It will be interesting to see what happens for sure because right now the congress is pretty divided, and there are going to be a lot of folks who are pretty bitter if they get voted out come november 2nd, and that being said I can see they will have issues getting some of those folks to cooperate.
For sure it is not set in stone, I know if they do make it law, I wont be going back on the road, and there are many many folks who will be coming off the road. -
And.....With Mexico demanding that we allow their trucks to run up here.....
I don't foresee Mexico buying into EOBR's.....Just like the NAFTA trucks get a pass with CARB regs.....
Maybe Obama wants to see all of us off the road so the NAFTA rigs can reign supreme on America's roads.... -
Never under estimate oboob's utter hatred of all things American.
sly1 Thanks this. -
HI DB, I have really enjoyed following this thread. Every day I learn something new on this forum.
My husband says DOT is easier on women drivers. I've only had to go thru 3 scales in my begining driving career, most have be prepassed.
So, is it true? -

lilillill and truckerdave1970 Thank this. -
Funny how it is that we all seem to have a "The Sky is Falling" attitude. I know that change sucks. But it is a part of life. I don't know where things are headed with all the new laws, but before we panic, let's give it a chance and see what happens.
Now before you all jump on me, I do realize that my point of view is much different, as I am retired. I don't know. Perhaps if I was an O/O I would be just as upset as everyone else.
But it seems to me like we are creating a lot of ulcers, hate and discontent and probably unnecessary worry before we know what is going to happen. Don't misunderstand me, I do not look at the world through "rose colored glasses," and I absolutely never underestimate the stupidity of the politicians.
But I also know that people will always need things. Things are brought by trucks. There is no way that he American People are going to stand by and ignore not being able to get their favorite brand of booze, tobacco and food stuffs, at least for very #### long.1nonly Thanks this.
