We spent the whole day in the classroom, doing Trip Envelopes and Logs. The new class of 5 guys started this week and already sent one of them home haha.
The Trip envelopes were kind of confusing but once I understood what was going on it isn't so bad lol. Although I don't like having to fill one out going back wards with someone Else's work. What I mean is they give you the envelope and a sheet with "some" info on a trip and you have to figure out how to fill out the envelope and they don't tell you how they got there so you have to figure out the route. It was allot of work and kind of frustrating but now that we've done it that way, we will know just how IMPORTANT it is to keep all the info in order, correct, and detailed as you go and it will be much easier to do the envelope.
We went over the log scenarios 1 and 2 and we all did really good because we had gotten together Friday night and worked together on them. So for #3 they said do it ALONE so I did and OMG!!!!!!!. I'm pretty good with the logs, I have a good working knowledge of the rules and regulations on logging and It took me 5-5.5 hours to do it. I read through the whole thing like 5 times before I even touched my log book. And I STILL messed it up. I came up with 11.25 driving hours. So I finished the log and ripped it out and read everything over again. Then I thought I had it I was like Ah HA its a trick, they want us to Split Log it, WRONG! So after they came out with WAY to many hours I finished that one and ripped it out too. I looked at both of the messed up logs and the scenario over again and I Finally figured it out........I finished the first two even though I knew they were wrong so that I could fully understand how and why I messed up, and so that they can see what it took to figure it out.
I'm 99.9999% sure I got it right, if notlol, If not I guess I'll learn why in the morning haha
I'm getting excited, we're getting Really close to getting our trucks, but I'm hearing it might be Thursday or Friday till we get a truck and get rolling.....but as long as I get rolling I'm happy!

Sounds like you still have some questions in your mind about logging. You want to be 100% sure. Just like backing practice, if you need logging practice, then practice doing logs.Any reservations you have, now's the time to address them.
I think you've got a handle on it, AT. Keep working towards your goal. If there's a delay getting you to a tractor then put the time to good use. You'll be thankful you did.American-Trucker Thanks this. -
Keep up the good work AT!!

I know how to log, the problem was trying to figure out what the story wanted. But I did get it right, although I was 15 min off I rounded down instead of up at one point.....but the few things I wasn't 100% on I got the answers today.

We spent all morning doing logs and a Brake class. Then after lunch we went over the tests in the Black binder. Then we watched a bunch of video's.
We have 3 video's left to watch, chaining class, Quail-comm class, and some paper work and were done. Tims starting to get our trucks rounded up, sounds like I might be out of here on Thursday!!!

I've read your entire post, and I can't wait to hear more! I'm even kind'a jealous. See, I have been wanting to drive for WS for several years, but I don't know yet if I'll qualify. WS' standards are pretty high, and my past "civilian life" isn't too good. (although, my MVR & NDR is clear!)

Thank you, I'm excited myself and very grateful for this opportunity that I have here at W/S.
Give Roxy in Recruiting a call to find out if you meet there standards....

I didn't think you'd have a logging problem. You seem to stay on top of all the issues.
Tomorrow's a big day, AT. Get it done, and do it right. It's time to begin a new chapter!
We'll be here waiting to find out what's in store. Good luck tomorrow!American-Trucker and sammycat Thank this. -
Spent all day in class, Tim's got 8 of 9 trucks.....We got some more classroom stuff to do and chaining, and 2 more video's thats it, we filled out a bunch of paper work today, W2's and stuff like that.
Tim said either Thursday or Friday, looks more like Friday though darn haha. Almost there, I can't wait!!!!!!!!!

Your story has been very inspirational, I hope to go with W/S as well, if not Maverick...
