Just got off the phone with Swift and it looks like I can go straight to their flatbed division. I will have to go to Phoenix for Orientation & 2 weeks of tie-down training then on the road for training. They said this will give me better home time.

So My question is Who is a Swift flatbedder and what do You think of it? I was told the runs would be Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma Arkansas and Louisiana.

Now Please if You don't drive for Swift or You feel You have to bash swift, DON'T POST ANYTHING There is enough Swift bashing thread else were on the board.

when I was with Swift. a friend was in flatbeds and he drove 48 so I'm not sure about the midwest info. I know they keep changing their regions

Look up schmud something. Thread called diary of a current swift flatbedder. Lots of good info and he seems like he likes it but he also has his times where he does not. Thats going to be anywhere though. I know he drives all 48 and he sees almost all of them. Its some good reading on there so look him up and read his thread. To me it does not look like a bad place to go just on the FB side. Seems small and tight knit

I think it's only a couple days tie down training during orientation then out with mentor. They just told us that today as a matter of fact. No mention of better home time or a specific area though. To be honest no benefits mentioned at all, just when it is.

Yeah I was trying to think if that was all..I think so. Anyway, I am considering it myself since I don't want to have to do another orientation down the road. At least they pay you for those two days training.

5 for flat bed, 3 for non-flat bed is what was told to us today (first day of academy was today).
