Detention has a cap of 8 hours.
So you have to wait 2, then get it for 8 hours.
Then after 24 you should get layover. But that would have to be 24 hours after the 8 you were paid for, they cannot pay you layover for time you already got compensated for.

ChromeDome is right, and explained it better than I could have.

    Also...
Try saying hello on our company channel. Company channel is channel 5.

    Which reminds me:
Back in the day, while killing time at SLC, England drivers used to jump on channel five and trash talk us. It was all in fun and we went back and forth late into the night.

    Good times.

Well i have been researching starter companies that require training for about 2 months and Central appears to be the the best out of the bunch so off to Conley for school a week from next monday. Anyone else headed there then? I live an hour drive from there and so i'm taking my personal vehicle and was wondering if there is a secure place to park my truck at the company yard while i'm out with a trainer?

because i scratched someone's mirror at the port of oakland when i first started. Cant have any preventables... in my defense i had about 4 inches between mirrors (mine and trucks next to me) and about 20 feet in front to maneuver a 75 foot vehicle.

i didnt stop... I was but nestle in mcdonough, ga took a bit longer than other nestle plants to load. so I was a bit behind.

i think detention pays more. I usually put in for 8 hrs detention then wait 24 hrs then put in for another 8 hrs.

You can try for it, but they have no obligation to pay at that point. I had that come up a few times when I was with them. Out of 3 times they paid 2, would not cover the 3 and explained why.
I was just lucky to get the 2 times.

For the parking question. Yes they have a secure lot at Conley. Or at least did when I was with them.
