Why the verbiage licence has expired? Will the maps that I think I have paid for expire at some time? The error message I get is pretty specific.

Mine TND is dead after the update, no its gone from a expensive map novelty to a really expensive paper weight.

I'll try the email thing, lets see where this goes....

How do you people find time to post on the forum, I dont get it. I can barely make it to a shower every three days let alone take time to log onto the forum? When and where do you find time. I am usually pre planned out for at least 5 days, then I get another 5 day plan. What gives?

 

When you downloaded the new maps the new license did not carry over. The old license will not work with new maps. I am sending you the new license.

Thanks for the quick reply Mark, I downloaded the LIC file and it seems to be working now.

I wanted to repeat what I said in the email for anyone else who is watching this thread, I have purchase all of the Commercial GPS units and conceptually the RM TND line is extremely good but not without bugs. The update process is pretty easy and frequent, which is good I would like any changes in construction zones asap. It also has a full line of features that it seems they are working on Auto timer for logs, the ability to export mileage driven (road taxes) in each state to a excel file. This is huge for the O/O saves time.

Fundamentally the protocol seems to be similar to any GPS unit the want you to turn right at a street only to make a u-turn at the next corner. But that isnt just the RM its all of them.

Here is an easy one for you, no matter which direction you come from the TND 500 will not route me to the Route 66 Casino/travel center. I tried rebooting it several times, and from botht the east and west of the location. It just freezes, the only way out is to find another address. Not a huge deal just something I remembered. Thought it was kinda weird.

Great place to hole up for a weekend if needed BTW... exit 140 on I-40 just west of Albuquerque.

 

Send that up to Rand to see what the truck attributes are for that exit.

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]I go to the same places a lot and ever since the update i did on 10/13/10 the rm gps seems to route me differently before the update seemed to keep me on state highways now it seems to what to send me off state roads on to county roads which are weight restricted have all the same settings i had before. which routing setting should i use fastest or shortest they seem the same to me should have a practical route setting.[/FONT]

 

Today I started getting an error message "some of the map regions used here have expired!"......

I did the big update a couple weeks ago but have not had any problems till today. I have done a search and see that some other people have had a missing or corrupted licenses file causing the same or similar issue. Where can I download a copy of to see if that will fix my problem also. I have the TND 500.
