I'll be heading up to Dallas later today to start orientation Friday. I will be on the western region. I have some experience and they told me I will go out with a trainer for 70-100 hours. Will anyone here be going ? Anyone been through orientation recently or are currently running western region ?
I'm stoked to get rolling again and I know this is a large company so not all of ya have had good or bad experiences, with that please don't p**s on my parade. If you don't have anything constructive to say just read and keep it to yourself. Thanks
Going with Werner

GO WITH THEM. I HAVE KNOWN PEOPLE OVER THE YEARS THAT HAVE BOUGHT HOMES WORKING FOR THEM. I MAY BE WRONG BUT FROM MY OWN EXPERIENCES I DON'T THINK SO.
THERE IS A LOT OF FAST MONEY OUTFITS OUT THERE THAT APPEAR TO BE TROUBLE MAKERS. YOU WOULD SWEAR THAT IS THE REASON THEY ARE IN THE INDUSTRY FOR.
I ALWAYS REMEMBERED TOO THAT A LOT OF DISAPOINTMENTS IS JUST THE NATURE OF TRUCKING AND NOT JUST THE TRUCK LINES, BUT THERE ARE SOME THOUGH. mY ADVICE IS TO STAY WITH THEM AND BUY A HOME.
HERE IS A LINK OF SOME OF MY TRUCKING PHOTO'S FROM THE ROAD

Just finished orientation today and am at home waiting on a trainer. I hope we made the right decision. Was not impressed with the person running our orientation. She defiantly did not 'care'. I hope Werner as a company stands by their slogan. Worse case scenario, I will get some experience and move to the next company. One day at a time.

It's hard to base an entire company on one employee, but I know what you mean. Good luck to you and be safe out there. Make the most of it and you'll be all the better off!

If I decide not to stay with Werner, what is the best way to leave with out them bashing my DAC?

Just put in a 2 week notice, do not refuse any loads on your way out, park the equipment where they want it and go home. Don't make any trouble.

Dallas is okay.. I went there 2 months ago.. Werner just wasnt my cup of tea.. I think its oriented more for newly broken in drivers.. Thier rules are kinda silly.. They do run 65.. You can pretty much fuel where you want to.. No having to fuel here for 50 gallons or there for 20.. Just follow thier fuel book and figure out your own fuel situation.. The gentleman that does orientation is a great guy, awesome to listen too.. And should be a auctioneer...
One thing with werner.. They lack trainers like crazy.. You might grab one after day 3 or you might wait 21 days.. The motel is kinda nice.. Actually werner owns it.. So its a 3 minute walk inside the gate from the hotel to the orientation room.. The drivers lounge is nice.. Cumfy recliners.. Big screen.. NICE free showers and FREE arcade games..
But thier trucks are just garbage there.. I went thru 2 trucks before i got my fill and came home.. But i hope your experiance is better than mine.. They have some good dedicated accounts.. But on your 11 west.. Ya... Your on a very low sliding pay scale.. Almost piss poor for over 500 miles.stk53 and angeleyesinfl Thank this.
