Currently with Altell and when they go away, dont know which carrier to go to. Dont really know about AT&T or Verizon as Ive never been with either of them before other than I hear Verizon has better coverage since they use a more standard service other than AT&T's GSM which to my knowledge is only used by them and I think Sprint.....
We're kinda eyein' Verizon, but I hear they disable the GPS on Blackberries unless you pay the 10 bucks a month for the VZ Navigator.....
I spose its not as much of an issue since we do plan to go with the Android phones eventually.
As it stands right now, we will be goin straight to AT&T when the merger is complete. Then we have to live up to the contracts we set with Alltel at the first of the year.
Just curious about pros and cons towards both providers......
AT&T or Verizon after AllTel closes doors?

I just switched to verizon from tmobile.the service is unbelievable. I bought the samsung fascinate (sp). It runs off android. I asked the same question before and it seemed more people said verizon is the way to go so I did. The only reason I wanted att is because of the iphone but verizon is going to start supplying iphones once the new ones are released next year with 4g

i really like verizon i have the droid 1 and its a great phone. and i have the mi-fi as well and have no complants.

I like the Iphone, but to me, all it is, is just a glorified Ipod that you can talk and text on with a web browser. Im not putting it down in anyway, but I have an Ipod with all my music on it; I dont need an Iphone to do the same thing. Besides, I kinda heard about Apple venturing out to Verizon about letting them have the Iphone as well, but I heard from a Verizon salesman that it probly wont happen because apparently, AT&T was the only wireless carrier that would accept Apple's expensive demands for contract percentages. I dunno, I guess things could change in the near future.

I use AT&T and have five bars of service EVERYWHERE!! 3-G at most places, also have a air card for my laptop.
-
My personal phone is Verizon and my company phone is AT&T. I have found that my Verizon phone works nearly everywhere while the AT&T phone can't get a signal in a lot of places. Verizon simply has much greater geographical coverage.

I used to have Sprint until my phone was stolen.
Then I went to Verizon. Good service, plans were too expensive back then.
Then I went to Cingular Wireless. The best I tbought, until they became the new AT&T which can't hold a candle to Verizon.
I have Tmobile. Maybe I'll go back to Verizon if the phone selections get better and they stop removing features from phones (gps and tethering). -
I'm on my second two year contract with Verizon. I get four bars in some remote places where no other company gets a signal.
I will be switching to AT&T when this contract is up. I want an iPhone so that I can combine my phone, iPod and XM into one unit. They also use a SIM card, while Verizon's is internal, so that I can swap in a prepaid SIM when I go overseas and still use my phone.
I want what I want, so I am switching. For most people, I think Verizon is the better choice. -
Why are you not considering Sprint? Coverage is great. Sprint has agreements with Verizon and vice versa to provide coverage.
If you are looking for just voice perhaps Verizon is your best bet. If you want internet, messaging and the other bells and whistles SPRINT wins on price and quality hands down.
Absolutely NOT AT&T no matter what. Expensive and poor coverage.
Abesquirrellsgnwild Thanks this.
