I do not have a victim mentality and I really doubt anyone does.

I have not had a ticket since I was 16 for speeding. I pay very close attention for signs such as this.

I have "MISSED" many of these in the past. I assure you they were not in the open.

The only one who stands to gain is those that are behind the signs.

While in your car, think that you are driving a vehicle with very limited ability to manuever around obstacles and other idiots on the road. You have a larger area to stop from and must be looking ahead at traffic and the signs.

The big truck is a cash cow to all that use it.

Well, I will help everyone out.

I plan on investing in the futures market for it to rise.

Based on prior luck, it will fall down instead of up.

I will be accepting donations to ease my losses though.:biggrin_25525:

Keep in mind though, I have to be able to do the investing with the savings on the fuel prices which are not being good right now.

Especially when you have 3 back to back runs to Canada and their cheap fuel.

I just looked at the area on Google Street View. The sign is there... AFTER the intersection where you are supposed to turn left.

So, there is the LARGE overhead sign saying US-45 stay in the left lane (which was closed due to construction).

Then you come upon a small group of US Highway signs in a cluster in amongst the bushes and BEHIND the Exxon gas station sign... at the intersection where trucks are supposed to turn left. I'm almost positive one of these signs pointed US-45 (not Business 45) straight ahead.

Then after you go though the intersection, PAST the point of no return, is the sign that says "No through trucks"... which I obviously missed anyhow.

The other thing that pisses me off, is the fact that the cop followed me ALL the way through town (yes I saw him), knowing full well that I had not seen the sign. He was just waiting until I made the right turn onto US-45 off West Cherry to blue light me... with dollar signs in his eyes.

The problem that will become more intense with csa2010 is that the failure to have caught the sign could lead to a very bad ticket with bad points.

FAILURE TO OBEY A TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE.

This will become a nasty catch all.

I know, we're all victims, everyone is trying to get in our pockets...What's funny is EVERYONE thinks that...Doctors think the govt, insurance companies and lawyers all want their money, patients want to suit them...Plumbers think the homeowner, suppliers and inspectors are all out to get them...Pilots think the unions, passengers, ATC and the FAA are out to get them...IT'S THE SAME THING EVERYONE SAYS ABOUT THEIR JOB...Everyone thinks everyone else thinks they're easy pickins...

I may be moanin and groanin over the same things ya'll mentioned but we're not unique, everyone feels the same because everyone buys into it and as a collective we can find others that feel the same...The, "wait till you do it for some time" line is just that, a line, and a weak one at that...

Apparently he sees he missed the sign, it wasn't "hidden" which implies someone did something out of malice...I'm not trying to be difficult, I just won't jump on the bandwagon, "yeah, they're out to get us"...It's just life as we know it and I know that...And I feel terrible someone may be horribly effected by it but it happens everyday to someone and they're not all truckers...I wish him the best and I'm sure, either way, he'll get over it and keep on truckin...

Sad part is that the sign was on the wrong side of the road. Basically after you enter the violated area and cannot do anything about it.

If there are no signs before there it is hard to prove they were not there when you went through.

After all, they know you cannot turn around and drive back because of the fact you will violate it again and that you have to deal with lost time.

Pictures taken at the time before ticketed have a greater value.

Best to get an attorney involved and see if you can get it changed to a parking violation or something.

The citation lists the offense count as 1 moving violation and 1 non-moving violation. My guess would be the moving violation is FAILURE TO OBEY A TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE, even though it only states violation of ordinance 441B (trucks must use bypass) in the comments section.
