My husband is currently attending school here at the above stated school.
Unemployment is paying for same, along with many others.
    _Shortage of Instructors
    _Verbal Abuse from Instructors
_one day owners wife instucts on the road.
    _Instructors don't show up.
They were advised 50 percent will pass on 1st try with MA State Police.
Everyone has had their turn except my husband (his is Friday of this week). So far all have failed on first try except 1. Apparently our state is the only state that you must parelle park a truck in a space to pass out of many other moves. I feel the owners is just feeding off the unemployed workers who are trying to become truck drivers. IE.....take the money with little results. The school is 4 weeks long. They are now on there 5th week with little results! How long is a good trucking school in time?

Does anyone anywhere know about this school. Please any responses would be most helpful. I'm ready to call Martha Coakley's office the AG for the state on this firm. I call it scam artists.

And yes since he has been in the school he gives truck drivers a lot more empthay than ever before!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Sincerely yours,
    NYSE

I don't know about this school. But a lot of schools are scammers, IMHO.

you need to evaluate the school just like you would job choices. The fact your are getting assistance paying for the school, treat it as if it is money from your pocket, because it is.

Thus far I rejected a school with a salesman promising me much. You need to look at how many trucks they have, how many students they have, and if they really have any knowledge in teaching. It is one thing to know how to do something but it is different when you have to teach it.

I am humbly waiting to get everything sorted out with paperwork, and plan to travel out of state to go to school. Where I live, wia funds are non existent, too many people applying.

Thanks for the reply. I feel this school is a "scammer" just sitting back and collecting the unemployment money. He checked as much as he could. This is a small class 5 or 6 in the class. The owner has 2 old trucks he uses (all the gears) then there is one tht is semi-sutomatic. They use all, but mainly now the semi-automatic, of which companies don't use from my uderstanding. The issue in tack is the owner can't hold onto instructors or they hire verbal abusers. NO individuals learns by having been screamed at everyday, he does this with everybody.
Some days there is only 1 instructor for 6 people. Some days there is 2 instuctors. Every day is different.
It is to late now to start another school as unemployment has already paid the money.
    Sincerely

i do not know of this school, but from thier website, they are at least DMV and state certified. now i do know for a fact, that mass is NOT the only state that makes students do parallel parking. i also know for a fact, the first time pass rates at the mass DMV are not always possible. the troopers do not give an inch, as they go by the book. i do not know what facility that school uses for DMV testing. one school i worked at, the pass rate for mass students was terrible. many times, there would be students on thier 3 or 10th time being tested. some students DO NOT PRACTICE, or even show up to school and yet they expect to pass.......???

if the owners wife is a CDL licensed driver, and state certified to teach, then SHE CAN do so.........

now, NO school can guarantee a student will pass the DMV testing, nor can any school guarantee a student will get a job when he/she graduates...

its ALL UP TO the student to apply himself to pass the tests. then seek employment, along with the job placement person.

NOT the only state that makes students do parallel parking....that is what he was told by the owner

owners wife is a CDL licensed driver, and state certified to teach, then SHE CAN do so.........no she is not

PRACTICE...he is even staying late to do same

forget the jobs for now we are just talking cdl.

Thank you so much for your response, much appreciated it.

the owner is WRONG.....i deal with teaching and the CDL testing.....MA, RI and CT do all the yard skills.

then she is not allowed to teach, not even sit in the truck while a student is driving. a LICENSED CDL person MUST BE in the seat next to the student.

the students that apply themselves, pass, your hubby should do fine then. yeah, DO NOT talk jobs just yet......

oh and by thew way you asked how long should a school be in time....??

i have seen some 2 weeks, to 20 weeks.........so it will vary on the hours each day, as well as how many days a week they go. but on average, 4 weeks is the "low end" of training time.........if they are going into the 5th week as you say, they a re also billing the state for this as well. and if not......then i can assure you, the students are getting pushed even harder. you can call and complain all you want to and to whomever you want to....if the school is state certified and DMV certified, and IT IS, they have a curriculum they are following.....nothing will be done.....

state certified can easily come and go when you know who to see..........same with DMV certified. I called the school today a told them they are not producing students that can even pass the 1st time for cdl. I advised that the unemployment commissioner for MA would be interested in reviewing their files. Further, I stated that I have no problems going to Martha Coakley the MA AG. I worked on her campaign. After hearing the daily stories from my husband (and yes he is NO complainer) I said enough. So I called the school. Now onto unemployment commisssioner next week if things don't change for the better. My conclusion is that this school is a scam!

ok......maybe it is.....i mean after all, i am not there (nor anyone else here) to witness anything, we are going by your hubby's words to you to here.

lesson to be learned.......and that is this......your hubby STILL NEEDS to pass his DMV tests soon......what if he doesn't....??? IF and i do mean IF they have a contract with him and they do, it specifically states that his time is for so many hours, days, etc. that being said, the school in-of-itself, has met the obligations of the contract. do you realistically think the state will pay for his schooling else where's....?? now, since the SCHOOL MET the obligations of the contract, they WILL NOT be required for any further training, or even providing a truck for your hubby....please thread carefully....

do as you wish (you already did), but i think you are putting your hubby in a precarious situation with his future. remember, NO SCHOOL can guarantee a passing rate at the DMV, or a job........

good luck.......you're going to need it.

If the school decides to play hard ball I'm more than prepared to get the help needed to place this mill out of business and in the papers on the net.

As far as a career, we were just looking at this as a short stop till his real industry comes back. Or just put in a few years till retirement.

All though, my husband couldn't believe how truckers were "TREATED by trucking companies". Now he knows as he has heard stories from instructors and others in the class. Now he isn't sure if this is the correct road. This trucking companies have a heavy ball over the truckers. That S----.

Thanks in advance for your reply, and yes I'll take your advise into count.
    Sincerely yours,
