everyone has their way, i log about 99% legit. shorten a driving stretch here or there if i need it or want to get an earlier start...when i sat in traffic or got low miles for whatever reason and it wont show me averaging 85mph or something if i cut an hour. i never go nuts with it.
it works for me, i dont care how anyone does their job as long as you dont push yourself to an unsafe level. i myself have no problem working within the 70 i will go as far as to say i like it because it keeps me from getting too burnt out. still hit 3200 miles this past week, i call that good enough.
when your new def do it legit and make sure your company will be down with that. then as you learn your limits and what you want to get out of it, go from there.

Now believing that following rules is holier than thou, you all are too much as you try to justify your lack of integrity and inability to do things right...Not everyone fudges, or lies, just a few of you and you are the reason quallcomms are becoming the norm as well as more regulations...If you can't make enough following the rules, get another job and quit trying to justify your bad behavior...And admitting it on a public forum shows your lack of professionalism...Even if you did do it, bragging about breaking the rules is as unprofessional as it gets...
It's no wonder companies don't treat drivers as professionals, many as seen here, don't know how to act or perform like one, they think breaking the rules to deliver a box is the right thing to do, professionals don't do that...Act like one and you'll get treated like one....And that "wait till you're out there" crap is just that, crap, tell it to your buddies that think what you're doing is right...I plan to be a professional... -
Qualcomm is the norm because it is a decent communication device for large fleets. Regulations don't guarantee a rested driver, only an annoyed one. Show me the regulation that says I have to sleep. Regulations are about control and money, not safety.
And lol if you think only a few falsify while the rest of the world tries to do perfectly legal. -
Grab your sense of professionalism, integrity, honesty and seriously skewed view of what your service to a trucking company is worth. See how long it lasts the first week you're on the road with a trainer. Let us know how all those morale's apply as you debate between getting the hell out of trucking, or doing what it takes to make a living. Truth is COMPANIES don't give a flying rats ### about you. They can buy drivers ten for a dollar, they know it, and that is what it all boils down to.
Prepare yourself, the rude awakening is coming, and that ain't no lie...Raiderfanatic Thanks this. -
>>>>You gotta be kidding me. You ain't even a trucker yet, and you got the nerve to lecture guys that have been doing it for years.
There you go again with a ridiculous statement, being a trucker yet is irrelevant, anyone outside of trucking would say the same thing, pros do it right, others break the rules and still wonder why they're not treated professionally when they don't act it...Reminds me of gradeschool debating on the schoolyard...And why should a company give a rats ### about you, you'll do anything to make a buck which is what lot lizards do(anything to make a living), not pros...You can't justify it no matter how hard you try, act like a pro, get treated like a pro, act like a lot lizard and you'll get treated like one... -
How long have you been driving a truck for a living?...................Uhh..huhh...exactly. It is honorable that you believe that "you will drive and log legal," and if I get into driving, I hope that I can do the same; but you really need to stop with your "holier-than-thou" attitude on this thread. You haven't even finished cdl training, not to mention even started driving yet, and you think you have the right to criticize those drivers who have been out there for years?!! C'mon! Why don't you just go to class (shouldn't you be studying?), get your cdl and start driving. In the meantime, work on not looking like a pompous fool on this forum.
Good luck with your training and career -
It will be very interesying to see how long it takes for you to change you mind:
8 hours line 4, how far can you drive?
3 hours in a traffic jam, but you still gotta go,
miss logging a 15 minute break....what I am sayin you do not have to run 12 hours a day, or 90 a week, all it takes is making up 15 minutes, and your log is false, no matter how legal you want to run, things happen on the road, there is a clean shower half hour down the road, but your out of time,do you park on a ramp even though you just unloaded a 53 full of tires in Housto in July.
I have mentioned before. I try and run as legal as I can, I wish it was 100 percent, but its not.
I wish you luck, safe miles and good health.....
Larry2fuzy and Raiderfanatic Thank this. -

I"m going to let it go now...They can do it their way and perpetuate why drivers are treated like lot lizards, I'll do it the way I'm being trained and try to change that image of the profession...If everyone did that and didn't ##### themselves out for a FEW dollars, which is all it amounts to, the industry would have to treat drivers better but when you have so many that will do anything, well, we can't expect to be treated better...
I've been PM'd by so many drivers that agree with me from this forum I know the way I'm thinking it the right way to make a living out there and I'm going that route...When the others get caught, they'll blame the DOT officer, dispatch or the company, like those entities have the ability to make them do something, of course...I've been a professional in every industry I've entered, I'm not changing for anyone...If my trainor doesn't like that, we'll battle, so what, I'll be in the right and if I end up having to look for another place to work, again, so what, these jobs are a dime a dozen, I'll find one that wants a professional...And by the way, thank you for your service and defending my right to speak my mind!!!!!!!
