Well alot of things will figure into that number. Are you solo company or solo lease/op? teaming or mentoring? etc. But the BIGGEST thing that will figure into your mileage, is your 'tude.

I gave my opinion to another poster who was asking about miles, etc. And i'll tell ya the same thing. You can get 100 different responces on here....and you'll lead yourself to believe that you 'should' get 2500 mi a week. But as a newb. that just isnt going to happen. I mean it COULD...but then its just as likely as returning a man to the moon in our lifetime.

expect 1300-1800 mi a week for the first month. Your dispatcher, fleet manager and other planners will want to see if you can pick up loads from point a, get them to point b without tearing up any equipment.....AND do it on time.

Don't get your hopes up thinking "oh boy oh boy, i'll get 3000 miles" then end up with half of that...and get p!zzed.

I agree DJ and that goes for any company I am told, they need to feel you out. Too many get all upset that they are not making the 60+ a 'big boy' makes in a year from the gate....

The only reason I'm asking is because I may work for Swift as solo. Hopefully I could get a regional job so I can be home more.

That is a tricky part of the country for drivers.

If you want regular hometime, be REALLY careful who you pick to drive for !!!!

Personnaly, I'd go to Lowes or Home Depot--make the same money and be home every night !!!!!!!!!

It don't matter who you are, and in most cases who you drive for, you gotta pay your dues before you get regional unless your really lucky. And most places like walmart, home depot, lowes, etc want experiaced drivers with clean records, wich means...yup, OTR and paying dues.

I presume the L/O vs company has something to do with it to. I'm averaging 2550 my first 9 weeks as an L/O - I/C for you Dick. That includes a 1800 5 day week where I stayed near my home terminal and did locals for 2 of those days.

not to mention all the screws, nails and washers you could walk home with in your pocket. =) after a year of working there, you'd have a party at your tiny home, with a deck overlooking a 1/4 acre backyard that uses more wood than the largest roller coaster. =)
