My friend is with the same company as me. There are many factors when getting a quote. Age, education, credit score, home owner, driving record. I also have all my other insurance through this agency which plays into the price. That's why I say it's not like shopping around for the cheapest.
Also, insurance companies only insure in certain states. You simply need to get on the phone and get quotes.

Hey Gears, Mind PMing some info on insurance.
I believe I can do better than my current situation, but I am in California so I wont hold my breath.
Thanks,
Dan -
I'm not a trucker, but I bought one in New York (White/GMC Daycab w/series 60 320 hp). My plan was to make it into a kick-az pickup truck. I was going to find a retired trucker, pay him his expenses and a few bucks to bring it to me in Fla. I didn't, however, even think about insurance. Is there such a thing as trip or short term insurance?
I hate to sell this thing before I even get to drive it. The truck is the nicest 1993 I've ever seen. 200,000 original miles, new rubber, perfect interior, etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated> Cost to have it shipped, etc. -
If your counting pennies already then you should not have bought it in the first place. You need to register it and insure it. On top of that you need to pay the driver for his time to drive it to you and his expenses like hotel and food and on top of that you need to fly him home!
Sell it. -
I bought the truck to have some fun with. I plan to pay a driver whatever the going rate is, plus expenses, plus airfare, plus a trip fishing on one of my boats while he's down here. If I was counting peninies I wouldn't have a fleet of boats worth 1.5 mil. But thanks for your sarcastic comments anyhow.

And by the way - why pay someone? Rent a car one way - drive up - drive it home. It shouldn't take any special license to drive the truck you described. Does it have air brakes? if the answer is no - no special license required. They rent larger trucks than yours to people who can't drive a honda every single day of the week....
Good luck and the best to you!russellkanning Thanks this. -
Dude, at the moment someone says that they have money it becomes very clear to everyone that they actually dont have money. People with money will never ever say that they have money or boats for 1.5 million and that will drive the truck for fun and will let the driver fish on of their many boats etc. Just take the mask of a rich man and I assure you will get answers to many more of your questions, people will be much more willing to help you not only here on this forum but in general as well.
