I drove local in Southern MD (St. Mary's and Charles CO.) for years. That is where most of my local was done, I was only local up here for a year, and that was in a mixer.
In MD was mostly straights but dumps, tanks, flats, low boy, whatever.
All the trucks were old and hot, mostly Mac's. No air in any of them.
Also drove local in St. Pete FL for a year, no A/C there either.
Now I can say I never sat in a dock on any of those jobs. I was out working at all of them loading and unloading. Not much sitting.
What are the Specs of Con-Way trucks

Never sat on the dock for 30 seconds with this outfit - been working it for 7 years.. Leaving Richmond after 4 hours on the slab with no A/C sucks and yes, A/C might kinda be necessary in the situation I've been in for the last year... Haven't had it but it is what it is right... Grew up for the most part in North East, Pa... That's not I95 through DC, Baltimore, and points North right man...... In 2010 no A/C is a joke but it is what it is and the pay keeps me coming back for more so what can I say..... -
My post was not ment to be negative. I was saying it as a way of saying it would not cause me to say no to a good job.
It is rather silly in 2010 to spec a truck without Air. I doubt they save anything. -

Lmao Perhaps Vs Southern TX Humidity yes Jersey would feel a bit cooler. I work for an major Airline and we have a hub in Texas and I know exactly what it feels like to wake up # 5am to 90 degrees n 100% Humidity. And to keep the this post on topic yes in the summer time in NJ and NY the combo of Heat+Humidity in stop n go traffic is enough to warrant having an A/C in the cab especially in 2010!
