I should say, it wasn't so much the tank. It was the work. Too much time loading and unloading. It was night shift, and i got too sleepy waiting for the pump to load or unload. Then it was an hour back to the yard, and another hour back to the house.. A couple of times, I came real close to falling asleep on my way home.

You are right about having a plan "B". I applied to landstar, I exceeded the minimum requirements. :biggrin_2557: After a four week wait I was told that I didn't meet their requirements, and was told that they could not disclose the area in which I didn't meet the qualifications.

I was dissappointed, but more perplexied as to what I have to "Improve" if I want to reapply next year.

So for now I am working plan"B" :biggrin_255:

I may have to go to plan C. The job in south Texas, even at a minimum of $800, isn't going to be enough money. I haven't been able to save anything for next years taxes, plus, because my ex and her hubby is getting a divorce, I'm going to need to be home more often. Everything is kind of up in the air right now. Everythig closing in from all directions...
Landstar has the right program that would pay me what I need, and still allow me to be home when I need to be there.

The south Texas job, was 2 weeks out and 2 days home.

There's 84 pages of information to read in this thread. That's what I did, then asked questions.

L/S is not for anyone who can't think for themselves or don't know a unprofitable load when they see one. With that said, if you know how to run a truck and make money doing it you will love it. What trailer are you going to pull?

I'm gonna have to pull theirs for a while. But plan on getting one as soon as possible. The 7% will pay for the trailer.. As long as I don't go overboard with the price.

So I was cruising the net, came across LandstarBrokers.com. There's a fuel card they offer for people transporting their freight it's called Savings Plus card. Know anything about it? SAys they offer fuel savings at over 500 truckstops, no transaction fees when you fuel with the Savings Plus Fuel Card, and there is also a settlement card that says it pays you in two days.

Just more stuff so Landstar don't have to give there freight to there drivers. You see, they make more money when the let outside carriers haul our freight. That goes for the Agents as well as Landstar there selves. They won't stop until Landstar is nothing more than a CH Robinson. They would rather broker freight than haul it.
