what i do too is i buy those cheap "Jersey Brown" gloves you get at Lowe's, etc. i get the 'lined type" and these Jersey Browns make for a good comfortable pair of gloves while walking from the truck to the truck stop. they do last a long time as well, but you cannot get them wet. heck, i even use these gloves at the school too, no need for fancy or expensive gloves in that environment either. then when they rip and they will toss'em. -
For fueling I use a pair of rubberized gloves. Keeps you from smelling like no. 2 diesel! Just rinse them off with whatever is available after fueling.

GoJo hand cleaner works great...

Brake cleaner contains acetate and is poisonous. Do not use it on your hands.

That's about what I do as well. I got a pair of the cheep rubberized gloves at Blaine's in Rice LK., and wear a pair of brown jersey gloves inside when I strap and unload in the winter or when fueling.
They work great, keep my hands dry and more important warm.
I just use the cheep leather work gloves in the summer and throw them away when they're trashed. -

I use the cheap rough leather gloves year round for working around the truck. During the winter I get them in larger sizes and then the brown jersy ones and wear them inside the leather gloves. You can find both at flea markets or farm stores in bulk or Wally World!
I have one good pair of tinsulate gloves for use in case of getting stranded or for walking from the truck to the truck stop and NOT for working in! These are for staying alive in cold weather. or for making that snowman!
The work gloves aren't on my hands that long while fueling and other chores around the truck.
Keep the receipts! Tax deductable item! -
