You are correct. Those that suffer from a LD are much more likely to be highly artistic and have a very high IQ. They tend to be able to think abstractly more than the average person.

aint worrying about the truck righting dellima for sure when you simorize it so why does a persun have to choos righting or not if nobody is reeding it so then i say why should someone even care if i am writing or not or of some things a person has to say then there is the problem of it when driving the truck not righting in the post if sonmeone makes fun of righting then who is suffering the most and if you dont make fun then you are a better person and pretend you are better cause you are open minded or at least can right that you are even fooling if noone then you say it in the post and there it is so you can be sure if you want If writing better is not the best way then who cares:biggrin_25524:

NOTE: This is just my opinion after several LONG LONG days of searching this site.
I have found that some of the people with the most experience, valuable advice, and manners, tend to be the ones with the worst spelling and grammar. Look at a lot of your own grandparents/great grandparents.....Im sure many of them were very wise but may have lacked the "book smarts" the OP speaks of. And, before anyone gets offended, I mean that many older people didnt recieve a complete high school education. My grandfather only completed the 8th grade before having to start working to help his family, yet he had more real world advice to offer than some who went on to college. And, more so in this profession than others, the folks who have been driving the longest (and have the most to offer us rookies) had/chose to quit school to start their career. I realize that this may not be the case in all examples, but I would rather hear advice from someone who had actual working knowledge and experience (regardless if I had to put some extra effort into understanding their post) than someone who got their knowledge/experience by reading a book.

    Just my opinion though.

I am not book smart I am street smart is like saying, I am not real smart I'm pretend smart. Experience does not equal intelligence. You can teach a dog not to pee on the rug through experience, that does not make it intelligent.

That being said, there are members here who have valuable experience to share. Sometimes experience is the best way to learn, sometimes it is not. I am more inclined to read a well written and well thought out post than one that is written poorly.

I do agree that many of the veteran drivers have LOADS of experience to pass on. What gets me are the young generation with the "me, me, me" attitude. These are the ones that were raised blaming everything on everyone else. They supposedly graduated from high school but cannot spell or punctuate a sentence to save their lives. They are the ones with little reason other than laziness for the way they act.

...nor does a ph.d make one intelligent...

one of the most intelligent people i know never went to college...can't spell worth a darn....

he's a backwoodsman....he's educated in other ways....and can survive in places and situations where most of us would die....so i listen to him and i read his material....why? cause i wanna survive....

if one wants to survive this industry, imho, one would put this certain prejudice aside and LISTEN to what is being said....LEARN from someone else's experience...

    ...my $0.02....
