    Ello!

    Its me the Newb!

I have heard stories from my Uncle Jeff who Drove for prime! ...

He had someone beat on his door trying to hijack him while stuck in traffic in NYC, and had to get pepper spray and spray that guy away (by rolling down the winder....

    So This brought to my attention;
How secure are the doors on the tractors?
    could someone break in them?
could someone break in using a baseball bat?
(I know the winders on them are strong as regular winders on auto's)

Have you had any of these types of 'situations'?

Reason I'm Asking.. If you are in a spot and you need to stop and sleep, while you lock your doors and what not.. could someone open them?

    Just a thought...

Yeah, a good hit on the side windows will break them easy.

Always carry something you can beat off an attacker with. Baseball bats are great weapons to have.

Tire irons, hammers, winch-bars, lead-weighted tire thumpers (these ARE legal in a rig), or even a good piece of pipe are always handy to have in easy reach, to clobber some bad-guys with.

Hit them as hard as you can, but try not to use any more force then you need to to stop them from harming you or the rig.

When the police show up, dont tell them your entire story cause they need to haul one of you away, be polite, tell them you wish to speak to an attorney and lawyer up, cause the other party will lie like all hell, usually.

I secure mine with a 357 Smith & Wesson. Had truck broke into in Stockton Ca. about twenty years ago by a woman with a butcher knife. You can bail out of jail. The morgue is a one way trip.

If you shoot, shoot to kill.

A dead attacker is less likely to sue you.

Good choice. I had to pack some heat myself when I was doing midnight delivery work into Oakland, CA gangland territory, all by myself.

A gun wouldn't have stopped them, but a few of them would have been belly up to the morgue before myself. :biggrin_255:
