Your fine......as long as you either stick with big companies that are self insured or the smaller companies that already have a high insurance premium. I got busted doing 143 in a 55. A lawyer got it dropped down to 85 in a 55. I still got hired on by a big OTR company later that summer when my regular work slowed down. Likewise I got hired on with a local outlaw flatbed company later that year when my regular job slowed down again. As long as the rest of you is clean or a little less then clean (like my record) your fine..... it just may take a little more charm and "yes sir" to get the gig.

you know what you did was wrong, you probably even live in a small town yourself, so you should have known better, and paid BETTER ATTENTION to the signs. you will have a difficult time for a while, maybe even a long time, unless you go to a an "outlaw outfit" like the poster in this posting i am about to address......

to be doing such a high rate of speed, no matter what type of vehicle, you too know was wreckless on your part....what were YOU trying to prove that day, or any other day you did such high speed antics...???

to HAVE to work for an "outlaw" company as you say only goes to prove that NO SELF RESPECTING company would want you, as you had demonstrated your lack of OBEYING the laws WE ALL MUST OBEY.....did you think you were above reproach and deserved a good job afterwards...?? obviously you didn't do too well if you had to "settle" for an outlaw outfit, i highly doubt the "BIG OTR COMPANY that hired you just after this was any BIG OTR company that had ANY good standings in the trucking community.....

so therefore, you DESERVED any shiot jobs that came along.

people like the 2 of you sicken me to no end, thinking that you can DO AS YOU PLEASE, and still do the job of a PROFESSIONAL and think that you are a professional, when all you 2 are is a couple of whack jobs.....that absolutely SHOULD NOT BE DRIVING A BIG RIG....

Rerun, Your entiled to speak your mind, and that's fine. However your wrong on a lot of your asumptions? (not sure if I spelled that right). I was just pointing out to the OP my experience....unlike most of the people on here that just come on to rant with no facts or experience to back it up. To correct you....Nope both big and small companies didn't give me much trouble about it. I never cried foul, questioned, nor whined about what the recoarse would be....which has been next to nothing. Sorry to burst your bubble.....

 

Hey uptight granny, you haven't ever been young and stupid? I've gone 140+ in my mustang gt when I was younger. Yeah it was stupid, but that's what young people do. Unless you're a nerdy teenager, then you won't understand the thrill of high speeds. I'm guessing you're that type of person. A nerd. Or you're so old you forgot what it was like to be young and stupid. So get over yourself and quit lecturing people on the internet. Can be taken by the cop as felonious flight meaning he can arrest ( hold ) you without p.c. other than the speeding suspecting that you are fleeing the scene of a felony and can hold you until he clears you. ( No specific amt. of time was given )

Would he do this? I asked Deputy Dawg ( my friend , again ) That depends on you and what he hears about you on the radio / sees on the data link.

He knows towing your rig is gonna cost you big so my guy says it's only a tool to use if he needs it.

It's a possibility that 13 over can be taken that way...... depends on you.

 

I think the point he was trying to make is you are supposed to be a professional...not some teenager. If you wanted to be a teenager then you should have stayed in the mustang instead of a rig. maybe then when you wreck you'll only kill yourself and not take more people with you

 

So I know I am going to get alot of heat with my comments so here goes.

I feel what you do in your personal life is exactly that personal. I drive fast in my personal vehicle all the time. I also have yet to have any ticket or accident. Ya ya I know the day is coming I don't need to be told that. I drive to the rules of the road when I am driving truck. In the truck I have to drive that way because an accident in the truck more than likely will kill someone. I know what I am driving and drive accordingly.

In my pickup, I am not trying to gloat or anything, but I am an extremely good driver as compared to most around me. I was the guy who would go out into a field and practice sliding and getting myself out of it, I have honed my skills myself in a closed enviroment so to say. I speed like there is no tomorrow and I know it is wrong. I don't have exact answer why but I think it has alot to do with the adrenaline rush of pushing a vehicle to its limits whether it be off road or onroad. Also we do not have alot of traffic on the highways, somedays I am lucky to meet more than 10 vehicles.


Anyways what I am getting at is silverb could be like me speeds when he is in his personal but a good conscientious driver in his rig but in my opinion on paper it doesn't look good to a potential company but it also shouldn't be looked at as a hire or no hire if it is his only offence. And he most certainly shouldn't be crucified by anybody on here being the moral police.

 

Rerun should change his name to "GOD" cuz thats what he thinks he is...lol
