Hi everybody I have been fired two days ago from Werner for a U-turn that I commit unknowingly. It was reported by my trainer and I had 4 hours left to finish my training.
I am not writing today about the U-turn. I believe its their policy and I did an honest mistake since I really didn't know it was a U-turn since I was parked on the right side of the road and then I thought I take left going back to take the exit to the Interstate my trainer was with me and did mention anything about a U- turn if He did I would of corrected myself right away but what can I say I guess He wanted to screw me
He called the dispatch and told him that I did a U-turn and then when asked in safety Dept He was telling them that I am a very good driver and that I passed all the requirements and should not be fired. He was blame by the safety and suspended from training
but at the end of the day I was fired what they say we believe you when you said you didn't know that was a U-turn and we believe you when you said if I know it was a U-turn I would of never done it but at the end of the day you were the one who did it and our policy is 0 tolerance for U-turn
my question to you guys and girls what do I do now? they said we terminated your employment with us for failing to follow company policy
can I be hired by another company ?
I have finished all the required hours for the training and according to my stupid trainer I passed the test and He recommended me I still have the trainer report with his signature .....etc
what do you suggest I do?
thank you to all of you
fired from Werner for U-turn 4 hours left to finish my trainning

start applying at other companies. When asked why you left Werner, tell them the truth. Someone will probably pick you up. Just keep trying
serdine, TrucksnDogs, JimDriv3r and 1 other person Thank this. -
You guys need to stop working for companies that treat you like garbage.
JimDriv3r, TrucksnDogs, Wiseguywireless and 1 other person Thank this. -

Just read on this forum. There are many companies you could apply with and I doubt it will be a big deal. Like Emulsified said, tell the truth about it. Don't try to hide it because it will probably be on your DAC report anyway. Also, get a copy of your DAC so you know what (if anything) they put on there.
rocknroll nik, serdine and JimDriv3r Thank this. -
he wasnt trying to screw you he was trying to look good for the company (that doesnt give a crap about him) by ratting you out. look at that, super fail on his part. dumb son of $##$#$#$. sorry you lost your job theres better companies out there. explain that the trainer who was suppose to be training you, keyword is training you, never said anything about it. its not your fault, if you didnt know their policy and the guy that was suppose to be doing his job training you didnt tell you, its his fault. hang in there!!
serdine and TrucksnDogs Thank this. -
How do you not know that you're doing a u-turn? It's pretty obvious.
TrucksnDogs and Jarhed1964 Thank this. -
First off, as mentioned you'll find another company to try you out, however to be honest I'm a little unsure if I believe your story or trust your integrity. In one sentence alone you said your trainer was stupid even though he gave you a recommendation? Maybe your right, the trainer was stupid for giving you a passing grade. Seems to me you should be more greatful towards the trainer for giving you a recommendation instead of calling him stupid. Just a thought.
TrucksnDogs and AXE Thank this. -

Fact: I've done u-turns. Always on roads that are dead ends, at the very end, and have enough room to actually make the turn safely. (I've also backed almost five miles down a road that I went down in a wrong turn) NEVER on a road with two way traffic with traffic going back and forth, and no other way to go the other way. It's rare that you'll find situations like that. If possible, find somewhere to back into and pull out making a left turn going the other way, or a way back around without backing anywhere. (Watch out for going around the block, especially if it's a neighborhood. Chances are, you wont make it)
I think you'll find another job. Just keep looking and like everyone else says, be honest about it.serdine Thanks this.
