To negate the old 4-wheeler excuse "Officer, I never saw him, he just came out of nowhere". Doesn't work, they still say that after hitting you.

many years ago in the downtown area not too far from my house, some trucker had all kinds of lights on his truck. some idiot (4 wheeler) ran into him......i forgot the how's, when's, where's, or even WHY.....

the cop said (and it was published in the newspaper), "the truck was lit up like a Christmas tree, how could HE have hit him"...????

"i didn't see it......." was the answer the dummy gave.......!!!!

if only cops could give out "stupid tickets"..........

i'll never forget that accident and the cops response.......(just some of the particulars i cannot remember).

I'am guessing most of the guys that are complaining about the extra lights are company drivers and will never understand the reason behinded the extra lights. Thers nothing better at night than seeing a nice Pete or KW rolling down the road all lite up and its a pride thing.

Sometimes the wiring is more interesting than the lights.

To the few people that didn't quite get it; this thread was intended to be in good humor. Just havin' a little fun. :)

  11. I can't understand why anyone has a problem with it. Even the foreign truck pictured in the post above. It's his truck, he bought it, he paid for it, he drives it, he's the one that wants to see it daily, he can hang anything he wants on it for all I care.

It doesn't affect me at all. Besides, usually, those lit up trucks aren't the ones who pass me and then make a hard right to take an exit RIGHT in front of me.

Usually, I don't see a really lit up truck struggling to get into an easy spot at the truck stop.

The trucks with too many chicken lights are not the ones I'm afraid that will rip half of my tractor off at the truck stop.

Usually, it's not the lit up trucks doing 35mph through the truck stop parking lot.

Whether or not I like the "over chickened" look doesn't make any difference to me. What I care about is that driver having the ability to share the road safely with me in my tractor trailer and my family in a car. I'd rather share the road with the guy who's proud of his truck, no matter our differences in opinions of what looks good on it.
