True that!
I've seen some real cluster #### wiring jobs over the years.
I have quite a few lights on my truck and will probably have some more pretty (I'm starting to add more to the trailer now) soon because I like the way they look at night.
All of my lights are LED's and were all installed and wired by me and the wiring harnesses that I build are generally better than anything coming out of the factory...
I kind of have to agree that most of the complaining that I hear is coming from company hands that just "don't get it" because they don't own it and from the looks of most of their truck they don't understand the concept of "Pride In Your Ride!"
What's with all the lights?

Well my rig is all lit up with LED's because I LIKE IT. I think it looks good, and I take a lot of pride in my rig, and my job. And it's nice to see other guys that do too. The way I see it is, the people that have nice rigs take pride in what they do, and the ones that complain about it, don't.
Pumpkin Oval Head, Paddletrucker, Hitman and 1 other person Thank this. -
It shows pride and tradition.I think its cool.
ac120 Thanks this. -
I'll admit it. If I was allowed I'd put lights all over the truck. I have "Las Vegas" taste and if Swift would let me I'd have lights, spinning wheel covers and who knows what else. I think we should all be grateful that Swift won't let me.
American-Trucker and outerspacehillbilly Thank this. -
They are making a statement.
Look at me, I am Supertrucker, king of the road.
I live, breathe, eat, and sleep trucking. -
not sure if people are saying super trucker or king of the road--that is pretty tarded statement--i have quite a few --mainly cause i like them and i dont like looking a clone truck
its called individuality
people who complain about such a thing probabely have not spent the day polishing their wheels either--and on days off more than likely drive something as exciting as a ford focusouterspacehillbilly, Texas-Nana, Roadhound and 2 others Thank this. -
Which is so much nicer than the...Look at me, I'm miserable and I hate everything that I can't do well attitude that some of you project constantly!
If you have no pride in your work that's your problem....Roadhound, Flying Dutchman, Hitman and 6 others Thank this. -
Again, IT"S A JOKE!

I thought some here would appreciate this....
I've got a friend that runs a motorcycle shop and a couple years ago he showed me a customer's bike which he called the "Elvis dresser". This old Electra Glide (Shovelhead) was a rolling tribute to the "King" and had airbrushed pictures in the paint, extensive aluminum engraving, chrome and gold plating and....you guessed it....more lights than a Las Vegas marquis sign!
The problem was....the old shovels didn't have that great of a charging system. And, to compound the problem, the wiring harness had been badly hacked into with the addition of all the lights and accessories. Did I mention the air horns? The owner brought the bike in complaining that he couldn't ride it very far because his battery would go dead, even after a full charge.
My friend - "Red" as we called him - completely rewired the bike eliminating enough "extra" wiring and 3M scotch locks to fill a bushel basket. A newer, upgraded charging system was also installed - along with a second battery, which was mounted in the tour pack beside the compressor which serviced the air horns.
When the job was completed the customer was delighted to learn that he could now ride as long and as far as he wished, the bike now started much better AND....his lights were now at full brightness!

I view it the same way I view houses with Christmas decorations. Some people put up nothing at all, some go insane with the lights. Doesn't mean they're saying they're "Super Christmasers" just means we like a lot of lights.
Roadhound and Pumpkin Oval Head Thank this.
