U-turns on a road are very dangerous and illegal in most places that is why most companies will fire you if you get caught doing one.

As soon as he trainer saw what he was attempting to do, he should have stopped him and told him the best way to accomplish what he wanted to do without violating company policy. Not let him do the illegal act and then turn him him.
That guy should not be a trainer!serdine Thanks this. -
Folks,
we ARE talking Werner here !!!!!serdine Thanks this. -
serdine Thanks this.

On the upside, most companies know of Werner's practices and might give this guy a break i.e. start him out in training mode again just like a newbie. -
now for the life of me, i cannot think of anyone that hasn't done a u-turn a time or two, even at traffic lights, as long as 'the other side oncoming traffic" has a red light, a u-turn can be made, God knows i have seen this done a time or two. u-turns are many times illegal as we all know, and there ARE legal u-turns, such as on Rte 17 in NJ, as i know i and many others must have used them.
well, anyway let's look at your DAC now. you will be DAC'd as terminated for violation of company policy. whether or not they say why on the DAC. you will most likely NOT be re-hire-able, as well, but hey, it was after all Werner.
this can be a hinder for you to get another job, BUT when you fill out any job application one question usually arises and that is:
"have you ever been terminated or asked to leave a job".?
well you DO have to answer 'YES", and there is always an area to explain yourself. DO NOT get into full details, just say "i violated company policy"......they will call you to ask for MORE information then.
or, you COULD give the explanation at the same time you answer 'YES", so you can play this both ways.
given that Werner is one of the not so desirable bottom feeders, you may get by with a stern warning form a new employer about this, and may be put on probation longer than the usual 90 days........
in the end, i will also suggest you go back to your driving school and ask how much they would charge you for a refresher course. my thinking is sort of a 'self improvement" for yourself to show a new potential employer you want to make corrections NOW to be a much safer driver.
its a game one has to play sometimes, to get another job. -
Another one post wonder leaving out "the rest of the story".
Maybe he forgot the part about putting the trailer in the ditch, and blocking the road. -
At least you had a better reason, they fired us because of late loads they handed us 2 hours or more late to pickup and then moved up already difficult delivery times too. I used to like Werner, and while it was a PITA to get another job after getting canned we did find another job. And it turned out that Werner firing was pretty much the best thing that ever happened. I'm sure in a few years you will look back at this as their loss.
serdine Thanks this. -
what is next ????
soon they will say you cant go the wrong way on a one way street
some times you gotta do what you gotta do
