That was a GREAT post Paddletrucker. Thanks for sharing your story. I think we've all had some pretty close calls but yours takes the cake. Happy you didn't touch the Benz. I can fully imagine your mindset when that all went down.

Nope, wasn't me you saw in Oklahoma. I've just been running very close regional stuff for the past month and a half. All this freight is because of Christmas coming up. Did the same last year too. Pays pretty darn good.

Got the John Deere, log chain and a chunk of 4x4 and "messaged" the bumper back into it's place. Not too bad if I say so myself. At least it will do until the replacement arrives in about 2 weeks.

Thank you very much! Glad to see someone on here not bashing the newbies, but trying boost us up by letting them know anybody can make a simple mistake. Love your honesty and humbleness! ( I think that's a word, LOL)

Whatever you do, don't buy a POS International.

Simply standing on the bumper can bend it.

On the bright side. You'll have a sturdier bumper with the replacement.

Bumper are made out of Reynolds Wrap so they bend easy. I've scuffed a couple fenders and mirrors before. Had some lady try to squeeze past my truck one time in Florida and her van caught my bumper and came out looking just like yours. I cut if off and was on my way. She was crying and her husband was screaming at her thru the phone so I just let it go. It's a truck.....don't worry about it. Cut it off with either an air or electric grinder and be on your way. Anytime something like that happens, I look at it as an opportunity to rebuild the way I want it.

Sorry hadn't read the entire post. The fix job looks good.

new bumper? naw looks brand new to me. At least in the picture. Real life and staring at it from 50 billion angles might be able to see the defects. Guess your like me if I can see it I need to fix it.
