I am new to the trucking thing and leave in 2 weeks for school for central refrigerated. I saw you said people didn't pass the physical, is this a really strict physical? How does it work? What would make you fail? Just curious because I have never heard of some one failing a physical but as I said am new to the world of DOT. thanks

Is that clear enough, or do I have to re-explain using a sing-along and hand puppets? -
Day 11
We are down to 11 now, a few failed all of their DPS exams and a couple found out that yes they do check your background and if you "forget" to write down a felony or two they will find out.
We have learned straight line backing, parallel parking, alley docking, and started with shifting range.
So far SWIFT has held up their end of the bargain and I am happy with my training.
As far as getting a million miles a year, 100% no touch, and a brand new tweaked out rig. They never promised and I never assumed. All they offered was a job, with average miles, majority of no touch, a recently new truck (1-3) years old. In return I am expected to accept my loads, get them there in time and drive safely.
Not bad at all, realistic expectations and aware enough to now "hype" from reality.
Ill let you all know how shifting class goes. -

An awful lot of people have high blood pressure, but it's controlled with meds. Will that wash out a potential driver?
