I've heard different things on what they do with teams. Train them together, train them apart, train them apart for half, together for half.

When I went through, we had the option to go with a trainer together. I will advise you not to do that, 3 people in a truck is tough. We were only that way for 6 days before my co-driver dislocated an ankle and had to get off the truck.

You're going to get conflicting stories because of when people drove for Central, and who their dispatcher was. Someone who drove and quit 4 years ago is going to have a different experience than someone who is still driving.

ChromeDome's an excellent example of this, when he drove on the Kraft fleet, he got $0.40/mile solo and loved it, and that was a couple years ago. 1Bad drove on the Kraft fleet until early this year, and he did not make $0.40 a mile, and was having trouble with the planners. 2 different stories, conflicting information, but not really, if you consider the circumstances.

$0.35 split is what you'll make after 2 years, unless they've changed it.

Starting, we got $0.31 split, 6 months later it was $0.33, and at a year it was $0.34. We have $0.37/mile now.

You won't be getting 5500-6000, very few teams get that, and they're usually the ones that have been with the company a long time. If you go Walmart they're saying up over 4000 miles average, but because Walmart plans 60% of their loads, they don't have a lot of control over how many miles you go. Some weeks it might be 3800-4000 and then you might have a 6000 mile week.

How much milage you have depends on how well you run, how well the planners like you, and who you have as a fleet manager. We run as a team well, and are always cleaning up someone else's problem, but the planners don't seem to like us, or out fleet manager, so we keep getting hosed. Only time we didn't get hosed was when we had a planner, not a dispatcher, and even then it wasn't 6000/week.

It's not good riddance though. They took him off Kraft, sent him to Coors, took him off Coors when he had back surgery, put him back on Kraft, and last time I checked, he was on WalMart. It's like the great office shuffle. We keep thinking we should go to Walmart since it's for teams (and would get us out of the snow) but when they're changing peopel every couple of weeks, I really worry.

Ask your fleet manager. For the most part, if it's out of your control, like weather, mechanical, or not enough time on the load, it's not your service failure. That doesn't mean they won't try and pin it on you, but it shouldn't be your fault.

I've only ever had one that I explicitly know of. It went into my record at Central, along with the note from mt dispatcher at the time that my co-driver and I were to be fired if it ever happened again. Managed to get the firing threat downgraded to a warning, because he didn't warn us first, but we were aware we service failed that load.

California giving our bogus tickets! Our check engine light came on, we lost power, could not get rpms up past 14 went one mile to truck stop, just before exit cop puts on lights and siren, I thought they just needed by us, pull over and it is us!!! We said why are you pulling us over, and she said 65 in a 55. I said your kidding, we could not get it up to 65, because we were having engine problems, she said can't be, I got you. Here we are at Kenworth! Waiting to be seen in the morning!!!! Found a lawyer firm that does truck drivers, they say they want to do a class action suit against california for that very thing, bogus tickets!!! Its either that or stop delivering and receiving from here and let the ######## starve!!!

California is doing everything they can to get money coming in, including taxing people (me included) extra for years that I lived there, claiming that I didn't pay enough taxes, (cheaper to pay what they want than to fight it.... smart on their part, but I'm not paying JACK!!!!), and booting cars, making it cheaper for people to just pay the bogus "unpaid ticket", rather than to fight it and wait to get their car out of hock.

I guess it's easy to do if you have the keys to the laws. Ca can go ..... well, I don't need to elaborate on my request.

Electronic log has him saved, she looked sheepish when he told her he was electronic logged. He stopped prior, with check engine light, then drove slow to get to truck stop, she stopped him...he had gone 3 miles in 18 minutes!!! The FIGHT HAS ONLY JUST BEGUN!!!:biggrin_25516:

I thought we had only gone about a mile but checked the electronic logs and getting a print out, plus a computer print out from Kenworth on the check engine light, all is on their computer too. Talked with a law firm that is trying to put together a class action suit against California for bogus tickets, but so far they say truckers seem to be afraid of California...I refuse to believe a trucker is afraid of this hell hole.:biggrin_25513:
