Boss is pondering new Petes with the MX engine. Dealer salesman is pitching this engine because of better warranty. We're currently running Cummins ISX 450s. Just wondering about how they are doing.
Anybody running the new Paccar MX

we have over 50 right now running in local fleets by me. They are really liking them. We haven't had too many issues with them, just programming updates just like a lot of the new product out there right now

Fuel economy is supposed to be very good with these engines... my salesman at Peterbilt-Green Bay sez some fleets pushed 8 mpg and above in testing.
Some of our European members would have more to say since they have been in DAF trucks for a few years now. -
I had test drives twice, DAF105Paccar MX 12.9, SCR.
everething was fine, truck was new

Is it true that these are basically European MAN engines or some kind of clone?
-
Who is building the larger sized engines. I know Cummins was building the small ones when they first cam out, but not sure now
-
MAN is part of international. They helped with the maxxforce big bore. DAF which is a part of paccar developed the mx engine
-
Have always heard Cummins was apart of the MX engine too, but Paccar made it sound like a in house designed & built engine. Hope more post up good or bad with it & really curious how the dealers go about stocking parts for these as well.

m.a.n. is an independant company and only made an coloboration agreement with navistar
cummins has no implication in MX engine, it was designed inhouse solely by dafLast edited: Nov 27, 2010
