Yes, worked for them B4, 2003 and reapplied in 2010. I have left messages and to no avail no one will return the calls or my apps. I feel that they think I quit because of the job and this is not so. I told my DM that my dad was sick with a rare form of cancer and might need time off or a leave of absence. He was a good DM and did not say anything when I took the truck home 90 miles away, I did drop 40 dollars of fuel in the tank every time I went home, I felt it was the right thing to do. My DM would give me an extra day or two if I need it, 3 to 5 days off. SWIFT had a terminal within 30 miles of my home, and when my dads health started to decline I was at home, so I called my DM and let him know that I was going to take the tractor to the closest terminal and turn in the key.
He just said OK, and that was it, I never went back. I lost my dad in may of 2005 and I do not feel bad about parking that truck at all, the last two years with my dad was worth it. It would have been nice if anyone from SWIFT would have called to ask how thing are going at the time, but at big companies its all about their time for the most part, not yours. Anyway SWIFT does not pay real well, but is not that bad to work for, and if they had just said HAY ! how is your dad doing at the time, I might have gone back then, who can say.:biggrin_2557:

You've been out since 2003, and wonder why? Really?

You're going to have to take a refresher course, and hire in as a newb.....again.

You abandoned a truck. Going to be hard to find a job. Unfortunately you didn't have them authorizing the delivery of the truck at that terminal on paper?

Your both right, but I will be fine, I get a lot of calls from local tanker companies, but I do miss the open road. Someone will put me to work, I just hope it happens B4 they put me in the ground. Be Safe Ya All !
