CSA 2010: The data

Same with airline pilots ... but they still have plenty of those.

Many making less than truck drivers for the same hours.

 

Recently we saw that there will be an expected 5% loss of capacity or productivity once CSA 2010 is implemented. It was from an article in the Commercial Carrier Journal.

 

If you receive a ticket, then the court throws it out, does it still count against your score?

Anyways, it said if the court tosses the ticket, you have to use their dispute system to get it removed. dataq I think it was called? what a crock.

 

Sounds just like DAC. Put anything they want on there and you the driver play like hell trying to get inaccurate info taken off.

 

All for a fee, I'm sure. Highwaymen never went away, they just went into politics.

 

Will the new regulations help or hurt owner operators?????

 

It all depends on the O/O. If they go by the book they will be fine and in the long run it will help them. If the equipment is in poor condition and the O/O brakes rules it will hurt them.

 

Coming back on the road after a six month hiatus trying to find "something else" to do. I HAVE previous work experience not related to trucking, and still could not find anything... even in a relatively low unemployment area like Omaha. Ended up driving a cab after three months of putting out applications and resumes yielded nothing. 12-14 hour days, six days a week for around $200-300 a week is not worth it, so I am coming back on the road. Read through this entire thread, and still wondering about BMI, etc. If it is not part of CSA2010, why are so many carriers so concerned about it? If I had so much trouble finding something else to do, what about those who have done nothing but trucking all their lives and have no other marketable skills when they lose their trucking jobs because of the new regs? Have the truck stops been notified of the new BMI requirements so they can provide us with good HEALTHY food instead of the fast food that so many are going to? Yeah, you can sometimes find "healthy" food tucked in the bottom of the menus at some truck stops (sorry... "travel plazas"), but usually for higher prices than the already ridiculously priced items on the menu. Guess we will all have to become truck chefs and eat whatever we can throw together while trying to get a load safely delivered across the country... take time out to cook, etc.
The crash things is really irritating. Mr. Supersafe Trucker, never had a problem in 20 years of driving, sitting at a red light and *boom*, Joe Fourwheeler hits the truck... and the TRUCKER gets assessed points? Now the trucker's career is in danger for something totally beyond his control? Sounds like the inmates are running the asylum at FMSCA.
