My Experiance with Watkins Shepard!

I'm pretty sure they do, there were guys in my class doing the 3 day and they were there cashing there T-Checks with us at the T/S....

So as always when I do these LTL Furniture runs I have every min planned out for worst case scenario.....

I was suposed to do 7 of the 18 stops today, The first 3 went fine no problems...In fact I was 45 minutes ahead of schedual after the 3rd stop. But then came the BS stop lol. But this time it was ALL my fault! I for some STUPID reason listened to the customer instead of what I thought was right and it cost me an hour. Just is case any of you get a load there This is (Old Colony Furniture in Greensville, SC) I called to find out where the warehouse is and she says (pass us, take the first left, the PULL INTO the secound driveway......theres a turn around in there and then back into a dock just dont hit the dumpster.....) well yea DON'T DO THAT. There IS a turnaround area in there just big enough for a Straight truck! It doesn't look that small and she said to do it so stupid me trusted her and tried to turn around . Well 30 minutes later I'm still there trying to turn around.....so I call them inside and ask HOW I'm suposed to turn around and shes says "hold on I'll send someone out" so I'm thinking I'm retarded and this guy is going to come out say do this and it'll work and make me look like an idiot but at this point I just wanted to drop the furniture and get out of there . So this guy comes out and tells me what to do and 10 min later I'm stuck in the Mud!

So he come up to me and says "so whatcha gonna do now".....I wanted to knock him out lol


So I get out and say "I'm going to chain up" he says "whats that gonna do" and I say "watch you'll see"......So I grab my chains and lay them in front of the drives (yes I had the Diff locked ever since I pulled in) and this guy says "That wont work!" so I say "You sure?" and then I rocked the truck gently and Wala I drove right over the chains and out of the mud! and this guys literaly looked like ><.... So then 10 min later I finnaly figure out how to back out the way I came in and out into the road then.....I did what I WANTED to do in the first place! I backed off the street through the woods and into a dock and was out of there in 5 minutes lol SO all in all I wasted 1 hour and I thought for sure I had ruined my day.

So after that the next 3 stops went fine and rather quickly without any problems, and I was able to get way ahead of schedual again and even get the first stop for tomorrow off today which is good because they dont open until 9:30 and thats way to late to start my day with 9 stops tomorrow! But since I got 1 done and I think one of them has been cancled not sure yet lol I will have 7 or 8 for tomorrow.

Then I came here to the Flying J and got a nice hot meal from the resturant, I love Flying J's!



I love that feeling when a plan comes to gether!

I usually don't listen to them if I think I know better but I was tight on time so I figured I wouldnt mess with it....well ya see where that got me lol

I don't know what happend with the storm I went to sleep and when I woke up it was all over and sunny outside!

no not all of it but Furniture is a Big part of W/S. I've had everything from a full trailer load going to one customer to this 18 stop load here.....I doubt I'm the Go-To guy lol

Although I will get r' done!
