I have met a few people in person that said Werner was a good starter company. They also said it is all in what your attitude about working is. I don't know for sure cause I am still in school, but that sounds about right to me.

Sorry about abandoning the thread. with school winding down and the holiday, I've been pretty busy. Been talking to a lot of companies. Swift, Inman, Landspan, FFE, Central Refrigerated, and Star Leasing. So maybe someone will hire me. And yes, i will do port-a-crappers if i have to. Whatever it takes to get my foot in the door. Thanks for all the helpful comments.

well then as you can (and will see) this is another "good reason" in the list of "good reasons" to NOT do much if any job hopping.....since we have to go back 10 years and all, filling out job applications will be SO MUCH EASIER if one person has only one job for more than 5 years at a time...shorter "former employer's" one has to put in the apps.

keep trying, holidays are here, and the end of year is near, freight slows way down.........and sometimes doesn't pick up till around april/may.....

You got the right attitude bud, you can also look at some of the dump truck companies local to you. From there you move to end dumps, and gain regional experience. AFter that find a smaller OTR company who is willing to take a chance. Just keep your nose clean...

Yea, Inman over there in Leland was one I was going to tell you. I thought one of the guys that run that company teaches over there at the CFCC. Team operation if I remember right.

Well I talked to Stevens today and she went over everything with me and her auditer (i guess like a review board sorta?) and they schedule me orientation. So thats great!
I agree. I'm so sick of applications i could puke.

Thanks for the advice. This would have been my next step.

Yep, Al Gover is an instructor and the VP of safety and human resources out there. And yes, they are 100% team.

Thanks for everything and i'll keep every one who wants to know updated on my blog.

Worthless checks means that you might steal, or be unreliable, to a company.

A 9 MPH over the limit two years ago is not a big deal. The check writing stuff and the bad work history is what is hurting you, IMO.

Keep looking but dont expect to find a good company to work for until 7 to ten years have passed by on your slip-ups. Dont worry, you didn't miss a thing not getting hired on by Werner.

Werner Transportation - You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.

by the time i get my first year in, it'll have been 7 years. so i hope after at least a couple of years i should be good on that. Perfect criminal since then. did find out something though. i had 3 expired registration tickets a couple of years ago that were all dropped. they didnt show up on my MVR but showed up on my criminal background. the weird thing was i had to have a national background check done on me to work on a military base in 2008, and they didnt show up. go figure.
