    hi brian
the 7700 is a truck gps is it not
we need map and database updates more regular than once a year
finding warehouses and shippers is what pays the bills
paying a premium ( $500 ) for a truck gps over a car gps should warrant more regular
updates some manufactures update at least every 6 months
my brother bought the Rand McNally tdn 700 his finds roads that the cobra doesnt
eg Honda blvd thats the road that was built sept 2009 to honda canada plant

Funny, Durant isn't that big. The Love's according to their latest brochure (got it yesterday) has one in Colbert on Platter RD. That is the correct street IIRC. Just took me to the wrong end of it where the sex toy place was.

Yep, just checked it in my 7700 Love's #373 Platter RD Calera OK 74730 No street number just the road. Where you're pulling two from? I have no clue. Closest one other than that one is Atoka.

On the Love's brochure it has Calera(Colbert) Hwy69 and Platter Rd.

The two you show don't exist according to my 7700 and Love's. Have you checked Love's website?

Gee, I just double-checked the Loves website, and the locations are called "Love's Country Store". I don't know exactly what that is, but it doesn't sound like a truckstop. I found them in the 7700 as follows:

    1. Go to Point of Interest.
    2. Tap on "Near a different city"
    3. Enter Durant, OK and then tap on SET.
    4. Tap on AUTO/TRUCK
    5. Scroll down and tap on Travel Centers
    6. Tap on Loves
Funny thing, in step #4 if you tap on Promiles and then tap on Truck Stops, it correctly does not show those locations, because they are not really truck stops. Oops! I guess I should have used the Promiles data. It does show the location in Calera.

I investigated the map location we have for the Loves in Calera, and according to the Loves website they do not have a location in Calera. Turns out that it is really in Colbert. Our map location is correct for the Colbert truckstop. Colbert is about 8 miles from Calera.

We have the correct truckstop, but we have it listed as being in Calera instead of Colbert. I will have it addressed.

Yes there is and I use it frequently to get around the issues we're having.

Tap on the screen to get the menu. My Favorites|Address Book|Add|Save Using Current Point

It will store the location you're at and you can name it after it's saved. After that, you can recall it from My Favorites|Address Book

The only drawback is that if the 7700 doesn't have streets to get you where you are in its database, it won't know how to guide you through the "fields" on the last mile or so. However, after you've been there once to mark it, that shouldn't be a problem.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi, I have some questions.
What about model 7750, any difference?
Can any of them connect to an external GPS antenna?
Can any of them mounted flash on dash board?
Will Cobra consider add on blue tooth in the future model?

Just to add to that. All brands that I've tested will do this "driving thru fields" issue if you "save current position" on an unknown gps position (i.e. in a parking lot or at a dock.)

SO, the best way to "save" something in the address book, or favorites is to save the position right at the entrance of the location while it is still on a known road. By doing that, you will then be guided back to that exact entrance again from then-on when you use that saved point and it won't get confused at the end of the trip trying to guide you across a field.

Agreed. In fact, that's actually what I try to do. However, sometimes it's tough to 1) remember manipulate the display to actually mark the location:biggrin_25511:, while 2) negotiating a left turn across 2 lanes of traffic:biggrin_25513:, while 3) dealing with the idiot 4 wheeler who won't back up one inch to allow your left tandems to clear:biggrin_25510:, while 4) hunting and fishing for the gear you need in your Eaton-Fuller to keep moving (assuming the 4 wheeler gets out of the way):biggrin_25516:. I only have 2 brain cells and when they're getting that much use, one of them usually starts to smoke.:biggrin_2556:

Is there a way to click and save a current position?

The main difference with the 7750:

    • Enhanced graphics
    • Junction View
    • Lane Assist
    • State Mileage Log
    • Hours-of-Service Log
    • Mile Markers
Both the 7700 and the 7750 have a jack for an external antenna which we offer as an optional accessory.

Both models come with an adhesive disk that allows mounting to the dash.

Sorry but I do not have any info on whether future models will offer Bluetooth.
