sorry to hear this. but you say you don't even have a driver's license...??
well you will not be getting a CDL either. you need the car driver's license first, then you get the truck driver's license. then you would only be able to drive in your state, and since california is so big, that really should not be a problem. at this time, schooling will take money, and right now your time is about up for going to school and getting a job before you get kicked out. there should be living options available to you. i would worry MORE ABOUT THAT then getting a driver's license.
if you can find a way to stay at home, then do it. maybe a family sit down meeting, unless this has already been tried and done. a clergy man might be able to help as well.
right now you want an "out" of your situation and right now, "trucking and your lack of a driver's license is adding to your problems, which frankly, you should have dealt with MUCH earlier than this.
i can only wish you well and best of luck beyond this you will have to do your best to come up with a peaceful solution to your family situation, then proceed to your education.

I would've planned earlier for this if I had a choice. Parents told me today that would I be kicked out when I turned 18. The original plan was to go to college and lived at home but for some reason they changed their mind on a plan we had decided together and now I am looking for a company to drive for. And I did not pick truck driving as a last resort either. My dad hauls mobile homes in California and because of that I know a lot about trucks. I picked driving a truck because I already know a little about the industry. Getting a license is not my main priority. My main was getting a job and I am unable to find one I've been looking for one for a couple years with no luck.

In able to get a job with a CDL.... Regardless of age you need some kind of driving history. Since you don't have a lisence, you have not created a driving history.
So.... Your screwed!
BTW.... Your parents seem to not know what they are doing. I told my kids when they were 5 that I was kicking them out of the house when they were 18. -
You need your Class C (regular car drivers license) before you can get your Class A CDL. It does not matter how long you had a Class C as long as you have one. You will be restricted to CA only and not be eligible for HazMat untill you are 21. There is plenty of CA only work. Some agriculteral trucking companies will hire an 18 y/o and provide training toward a class A. Many of these training programs begin around the first few months of the year. If I were you, I'd get my car license right now. Even if you don't become a truck driver.

not sure of california law, but here in arizona you MUST have a class "C" (for a car) at least for 1 year before you can even get a permit for a commercial license. You can join navy with a ged. i spent 4 years in navy when i turned 18, and loved it. saw a lot of diffrent countries. plus, no one is shooting at you...

18 and not even a drivers license, i'm assuming not a job because if you had one you might just go find your own place to live.
forum, board, posters abroad this is the generational thing i'm talking about.Mike' Thanks this. -
CA is different. I might have had my class C a whole 6 months before I got my A. I knew people that got their C just weeks before their A.
