I will be leaving to Ocala on 12/14. there I will take the road test and the orientation for 3 days then out with a mentor depending how I do at the road test. This is what my recruiter explain to me.

Now about me, I have my cdl but have been driving for a while. What I am doing is taken a refresher on my own starting 12/6-8 just to make sure I pass the test. I have been in touch with my recruiter who has been woderful. She send me the orientation information and in it has the wellness test. I dont know if it's a standard info since I've been reading here that it is no longer been done,I will let you know once I get there.

In order to be able to answer any other question please post them here, what anyone needs for me to find out once I am there and I will be happy to clarify anything I can.
Wish me luck and I will let you know how my refresher goes,,:biggrin_25525:

I just finished orientation as well, in Fontana CA.

We had a fairly large orientation class, with around 30 people. Probably around 22 made it through to be hired.

I am back home waiting for a mentor. There were only 3 available, and the guys with previous experience got those. Thanksgiving and all the recent bad weather has really created a backlog.

Good luck with yours, LoneRider. It's a little boring at times, entertaining and informative at others.

Where are you doing your refresher LR? Did you do your initial schooling in Polk County? If so where? I'm trying to get in at Ridge Career Center for their Jan 4th start date. 10 week program. And good luck with Swift.

Thanks. I'm excited and eager to start.

Some didn't pass the physical - mainly blood pressure issues. I think one failed the drug test.
One woman that had experience had an expired med card, and Swift requires a valid card when you come in.

5 or so failed the road test. One guy in my group failed because he didn't know the 10-speed and didn't understand double-clutching. He also wandered into the other lane while looking at the gearshift trying to figure out how to use it, and almost went into a car.

I think a few others had work history or background issues, but I'm not really sure.

Also, ask what kind of paperwork you need from your doctor (if any) about the medication you are using. That was one of the holdups at orientation, from what I was hearing. They didn't have the doctors' info, or maybe a note from the doctor stating that the meds were safe to drive with. I'm not all sure of all the details, but you should try to be sure you have any required info with you before going.
