JML FYI when I was at May for a tour with my school also in Phoenix we were told 2 students from SW Truck were sent back for more backing experience. I am also in the Phoenix area, I attended Western Truck School. You can see my thread here: http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...ools/109561-western-truck-driving-school.html

I learned from a lady with 18 years experience 8 or 9 as a trainer. Several companies I was attempting to get pre-hires from said SW was not on their authorized list anymore. The company I am going to orientation with next week being one of them. Just my 2 cents

    Good luck.

    Cage,

Interesting, I have to go with SW because no backing out now, unless I loose my money! It seems if you can get on with a company as a newbie, and get one year, you can move around from there. Either way I am going to try it and learn what I can and get some real experience on the road. Are you looking to do regional or all 48?

I think there is something AZ law you can quit up to 3 days after the start date if cost was over $3000, buyers remorse law. I have backed out on a few things in the past. They will be required to give you a refund. I am going 48 to learn at least 6-12 months, then hopefully regional for a few months then local. I have several friends that say to plan on 2 years to get a really good solid local gig and most of them did the same way 6-12 OTR, 6-12 regional then local a few went local within 1 year but they had hook ups.

I noticed the same thing, lots of trucks in the yard, the recruiter in Oregon told me that all those trucks are guys on their time off and just can park them in the yard, not sure if I believe her

When I worked for May you could not have your truck at home during home time. So that is part of it and some will be trucks with no drivers.
