just dug mine out of the crevice between the dashboard and the windshield where it stays and see that the battery has been dead in my Timex since who knows when. I check the time on my Blackberry phone, and gave up wearing a watch.

Yea, how many timepieces do we need? Nearly all trucks have at least one thing in them that displays the current time, plus who doesn't have a cell phone? Why spend money an uncomfortable watch?

The issue with using the phone for time comes if you are driving OTR and crossing time zones allot.
You need something set at your log time, since that does not change.
I have tried setting my truck clock at log time, my watch at my home time, and then using the phone for the local time where I am.
The problem is that this would on occasion cause log issues. Since I always wear a watch I would look at it automatically. Thus I had to set it for the time zone I log at.
Since then I have gotten use to that.

I have lost or broken some fine expensive watches I have bought or been given. So I don't do that any more.
I buy the cheapest watch I can find at Walmart and wear it till it stops.
I buy the "Sports Strap" because I hate having the metal watchband pull the hair on my arms, and sweat makes leather bands rot.

I've worn my Tag Heuer link wrist watch for over a decade. It's not light, flimsy or skimpy girly wrist watch nor is it too bulky. Personally I like the vintage (12 yrs old) Bugatti divers watch but the dealer cost was slightly over 5K back then.:biggrin_2556:

A man who knows a good timepiece. I wear a Tag Heuer Carrera myself. Wear it daily and since its sapphire glass on the front never scratches. Also I like watches with automatic movements.
