Thanks to all who have helped me in the thread started in the O/O section, heres the whole story
    http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...operator/126569-job-offer-from-local-o-o.html

Update: I've had a sitdown interview with JB Hunt. I would be driving a straight truck with an A frame rack on top loaded with glass. 1-5 stops a day home every night & every weekend, They took over the transportation of a local company. They said that a lot of carriers are doing that nowadays. I met him at the plant where I would drive to every day,30 min from the house.(full benefits package, nice pay)

Then Im still waiting on an OTR company to get a truck ready, he said it wasn't a matter of if he will call but when, he said I should hear from him by Wed.
    (home weekends, benefits, good pay)

another companies Im considering is USA Truck, a few years back I wouldn't have ever considered it, but I hear good things now a days and see better equipment being ran. (no insurance for the first full year, decent pay though)

Getting my foot in the door is key right now, so any company is looking good till I get another 6 month OTR.

A straight truck? you mean a 6 wheeler? That won't count as driving experience if trying to hire on with the big boys. But, you could transfer with-in the company to a big truck, if they have any.

Some of the trucks are 6 wheelers some are 10 wheelers, and they have a tractor/trailer as well.
I thought about the same thing, but I also should look at it from the perspective that in 3 quarters (1 year) my wife will have graduated, and i might be back in school myself.

It still ticks me off that with 2 yr OTR and 3 yrs with my last company that Im having such a hard time! Like you were saying I could always transfer with in the company if I wanted.

What kind of company does not give you insurance for the first full year?
I would not even consider them! But that is just me! I would go with Werner before I would go with USA
