The TSA set up a checkpoint in Atlanta in late September to scan trucks for terrorist activity, at weigh stations. They plan to scan our trucks at all weigh stations. How many scales do you go though in a day? Are you concerned this might affect your health? What about your electronics? When was the last time you were accused of being a terrorist?
Will you allow yourself and your truck to be x-rayed multiple times per day? What about irradiated? If you haul food and it's irradiated, then what?
How will you respond to TSA scanning your truck?

this may have a health effect. but right now, i am not aware of all the risks involved.
as a truck driver, we are going to submit to whatever they want. unless we get tied up for hours and hours. if hauling food, and its gets irradiated, so what...??? it ain't my problem, as i'd be complying with what i was told to do. IF and I say IF we are given a chance to not be x-rayed ourselves, then i'd take them up on that. but to fight or argue would be pointless. they can hold us for as long as they want to, then what......??? do you lose your job now because you caused an incident..?? does your company get a closer look at if you refuse...???
like anything else in trucking, its BS we have to put up with. no sense in trying to stir up the pot i say.....get it done, be on your way..... -
After 9/11 I delivered to several military bases that had installed Xray machinery, they always made me get out of the truck, just as they do at the customs border crossings. So I don't have to worry about radiation for me, but I wonder what effect it may have on gadgets and gizmos in my truck. Glad I don't have an older film type camera anymore.
-
maybe the radiation will make all the GPS "gizmos" actually be spot on accurate...???
-
I dont care as long as they "dont touch my junk"
annettecj and scottied67 Thank this. -
Get down on I-10 about 70 or 90 miles east of El Paso...at the Border Patrol Inspection station...there are "gizzmos" about 200 ft. before the canopy...scanning the vehicles as they pass. Been there for quite a while now...I haven't had any body parts fall off or any vital organs effected that I know of to this point!
I'm sure there are other set ups just the same in other places too! No big deal...unless you are trying to run some type of contraband past that inspection! -
but do you at least GLOWin the dark now...???wulfman75 Thanks this.

Make sure to turn your head and cough!

-
and just WHY must we turn our heads....???
i never asked any doctor that before....... -
So you don't plant a big "lugey" on his head of course!
Rerun8963 Thanks this.
