ah, so you're a mechanic...so you know what you can get away with and what you cant? You know its better for the company/dealership you work for to somehow void a warranty repair so u can charge the truck owner. Whos to say that the mechanic didn't beat on the starter just to void the warranty. I'd me his word against mine, too, yeah??

Yeppers...I was about to say in my experience, you can't get it pulled into the shop and the hood opened for less than $500 unless it's just a PM. That's why a repair fund is part of your operating cost.

yeah...and i've tapped into just about every dollar in that account with this repair. $320 for the first visit to the repair shop, another $500 this time, and $350 for 2 service calls. I have $1800 in my maint. account...and this one problem has sucked up about all of that. Lets not even count the $1800 in income from that first weekend of loads i ended up losing cause of this problem. But like i said, this is strike 2 for this truck with this problem. one more, and its going back to swift, and they can find me another T660.

i'm bringing in $1000 a week, but being in the shop every 2-3 weeks is just killin' me.

You don't have squat. By the time you add up all of the lost revenue for showing up at court, court costs, etc. you'll be out thousands. For what? Nada. First, you can't PROVE anything without an expert witness. Which you can't afford to hire on top of everything else. Like I said, they're going to laugh at you, and tell you to shove it.

Sheez! You got a lot to learn...

There is where you are hurting. I used to bring home 800-1200 a week as a company driver with weekends home. Nothing to pay out of that. That lease you are under is going to bankrupt you if you keep sinking repair bills like that into it. The problem with a lease at a company level compared to an O/O is like night and day. Most O/O's have a lot smaller note with the bennies of taking the truck somewhere else if things don't work out.

yeah, you got a whole one more year experience than me.....you sure know alot more than i do....

i do know one thing, this is the last time i take the truck to the Kenworth in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Who is to say the mechanic there didn't beat or bang on the starter cause he knew it'd void the warranty? unless i stand right there the whole time the truck is in the shop...which i couldnt do..
