I am new to this and I was wondering if a company that i would like to work for (Roehl) has no terminals in my state is it possible to still work for them? And do I lose home time if I have to go to a terminal in another state? Example I live in south Florida and nearest termial is in Atlanta.

The only way to know for sure is talk to them. I know that sounds like a smart a-- but I'm not trying to be. You might want to make a list of questions and the next time you talk with them to get your answers. By making a list you won't forget anything and if they give you the run-around you can take notes.

It's been a couple years since we looked at them so the best advice is to talk to them. I think it will depend on what division you want to work for. Many of the divisions are slip seating so you would be back at the yard and that's when your home time would start - making it harder to get home if you are in another state.

Most of the time, when you call a trucking company, recruiting department. The first question the rep will ask you is usually "Where do you live?". If you are not withi a certain criteria, they will not take the conversation any further anyways.

well i'm going to bre going to cdl school in Jacksonville very soon and went to many company site, crete, rohel are my top choices. crete having a terminal in Deland Florida which is good but thet require a stable work history( I have had 3 jobs in 3 years. And as low as 3 months from hurricanes in '04 having a direct hit where I live and destroying where I worked.) I was in the Automotive field as a service advisor but got burned out on that after doing that for 10 years. So all of this is new and I try to read all the posts now that i'm unemployed for the time being.thanks again everyone for your input.

The worst that can happen with slip seating, besides what a major annoyance it is, is someone else having an accident with the truck and you gettting blamed for it.

Fights can and do break out at LTL companies because of that sort of thing, between the city driver who drives it during the day, and the linehauler who runs it at night.

Yeah, they're pretty good. They have several terminals in your area, Atlanta, Conley, and Cordele to name three. They seem to be the best paying.

They have two terminals in PA, and about 6 in FL.
