you got a road call to replace one broken alternator belt?
you must be made of money dude--dont you carry spare belts?
2belts about $50---and at most a half hout to change--vs $300 and how ever long that took
and if your ac mount is broken and belt squealing--cut the #### belt off and keep going
getting a callout for a broken belt is just proving the mechanics right about the steering wheel holder part
First major issue with my truck....

Hey, Raider, I'm headed up to Hutchinson in a little while. I load up there in the morning. I'm just waiting until 1930 so I can fuel and move. It'll be the end of my 34. Any truck stops I can go to up there? I'm coming in form OkieCity.
*Alert! Alert! Hijack in Progress!* -
Injun Thanks this.

You moving yet, Redd? Been praying the load spirits take mercy on you.

No.... We flatbedders don't work on the weekends.
That Conoco is on the south side of US-50 on KS-96. I've stayed there a few times. Got parking for maybe 30-50 trucks if memory serves me correctly. Cheap showers.... And I'm not sure if it is a deli or a resturant, but they got something to eat.
Depending on where you have to go & how your getting there.... You may be better off staying at the dump in Wichita or going up to Newells in Newton.Injun Thanks this. -
I'm picking up at the paper plant. And I hate rolling toll roads. I'll pay the 'Skins in Oklahoma, but Kansas Turnpike Authority can take a leap if I can avoid their roads. Yeah, I know Swift pays the tolls...it's the principle of the thing.

Yeah the place has a restaurant. Since I live here I never have used anything else there. I know they need to fix their parking lot....it's in sad shape.

I never stopped when the AC wasn't working. I ran with the windows down until I could get it in the shop. Don't know where you got the idea I did anything else.
I'm not the brightest guy so when the shop told me that the belts were in great shape, I took their word for it. So I never had extra belts. I also had fuel gel on me once and I didn't have an extra fuel filter.
I didn't know....duh! It's called learning.
The time I could have spent finding a place to get the belts, figuring out a way to get to it etc... could have easily ended up costing me too much time. In turn, it could have cost me the time I needed to get unloaded and be in line to get where ever I needed to be to get loaded again.
I now carry extra fuel filters....carry an extra belt....and have added a few other items that cold possibly cause me down time that I can fix myself.
Sorry...hope one day I can be as smart as you.Injun Thanks this. -
