Day one of orientation complete. Due to ice, the road test was postponed. My resting heart rate was low (54 BPM since I exercise), so I had to re-take my DOT physical ($40). By BP was 120/60 and BPM was 60.

Paperwork and Qualcomm training was about all else we did today. A few people did not pass the physical.

 

Day two. Failed the road test. Second chance tomorrow. I'm not sure if they send me home if I fail or offer me a refresher.

 

Day 3. On the shuttle heading to Greyhound. Failed 2nd road test. I was told to go back and do a 40 hour refresher. Well see...not sure what to do now. 2 days on the bus before I'm home.

 

Time to regroup,

rethink this whole idea.

Well, you're still spinning your wheels, but it looks like it has finally come time to face reality.

You need to do something so that you can pass a roadtest !!!!

No other option is there ?

What are your thoughts,

I'll be meeting with the CDL school's director and I'll go from there. Worse case scenario I'll get my passenger and go bus instead.

 

I agree with everything was said here. Time to rethink the whole thing. Be a truck driver? Or something else? Be long weeks away from your family? A lot to think if that's for you or if there's something better awaiting for you... If you want to give trucking another chance, talk to CDL school and see if you can get refresher there...

Heck, I was disqualified during Roehl training, then didn't pass road test at USXpress.... my confidence level was way low.... Went back to CDL school, took refresher, got a lot of encouragement and got a job at Covenant. Have been here for over 2 and half years, no accident and doing a great job.

Other fellow CDL students decided to drive passenger bus, another drives a van for Veteran's hospital.... he is happy and home every night.

You will find something that will fit you well. Stay positive.
