Hi, my wife and I want to be O/O,s and work for a really good, honest company that would let us run in Canada only. We are very mobile and will move any place in Canada for the right job. We are not whiners or complainers. We don't want weekends off or any other B/S. We want to run as a super single and get about 16,000 miles a month. Is there money to be made in trucking still as an O/O? We have 2 years driving in the us and in canada with vans and reefers. Any help is great.
Is there money in trucking as an O/O?

the guy couldn't get anything straight,
he went from having a $4000 truck payment down to $3000 and now it is $2000. -
Also went from asking about going to work for BISON and 6 days later was already working there for a few months getting 20,000 miles a month but did not know his fuel costs..

No wonder people think truckers are a joke.

truckers are a joke.... you think it takes skill to do this crappy job? it takes common sense...that is all! seeing people in the ditch in the rogers pass for example. is a perfect example of such idiots thinking they can run a few miles faster than the other guys only gaining them maximum 1hr time but therefor risking their and everyone elses lives on the road. Truck drivers are mostly dropouts ......stop putting yourself on a pedestal cuz it is a low level job. ... but I LOVE IT. and I realize that this job sucks unlike these other idiots who think they are super trucker....
Tam_Tam Thanks this. -
I'm trying to think of where on Rogers Pass that there is a ditch. I've seen marks where trucks have gone over, and I've seen trucks on their sides, but none in a "ditch" on Rogers.
And no, it takes a little more than common sense to do this job. It's not brain surgery, but it's not a McDonalds job either.
I've talked to many drivers over the years, and although I've come across those who have dropped out, I find a lot more are like myself. College educated, but looking to try out something different, to see if you like it.
And yes, at times I DO feel like a super-trucker. But, that feeling wears off after a day or so.JayTee Thanks this.
