Not doing the refresher - but that is the info that was given to Hubby and I. He was an O/O 20+ years ago - but doesn't have his CDL anymore - so we have to go through the whole shibang... he's going first and I'm following. Sorry I can't be more help. Would you be going to the CA one?? or UT??

Hey bro, that price that they are giving you is what a newbie that has no experience pays. I would negotiate with them to get you a lower tuition cost. If you happen to have an honorable discharge from the military then you do not have to pay any tuition as long as you stay with them for a year. I start in Fontana on Jan. 10th.

You just might see my husband down there :yes2557: Klingon... He is in day 3 of the school here (TDA in Sac) - we figure he will finish right about at the end of December - so you never know :biggrin_25525:

Yep!! I can't wait! He is going first - while I get things set up at home for when we are gone. Daughter and hubby will be moving in (keeping a room open for us to visit - and for when we eventually decide to stop rolling) - and we are moving OUT - LOL! So I figure (worst case scenario) 2 months before I can start my schooling - so 3 wks school, 5 wks w/trainer - so we are talking about 4 months until we will be teaming it. By then he will have been going solo for about 2 months - or there abouts...

I don't know if he can or not - he will be a 'company' driver not a 'lease' driver - I don't think if he is a 'company' driver he would be able to train. Plus 20+ years ago he tried to teach me how to drive his Freightliner - but after many LOUD words the second time out (and me not being able to downshift) he took back the drivers seat. Then reached over - turn OFF the jake brake and told me - you can't shift with that on :D LOL! (love telling that story) So it just might be better to train with someone besides him. Plus then we can compare info and his trainer might have some hint that mine won't know and mine might know some his didn't... pooling knowledge :biggrin_25525:

haha ya that sounds like a better idea that way you guys can share information. I am pretty sure though that he can train you, he does not have to be a lease op. But it would be better to train with someone else haha.

    Lady K Thanks this.
